Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (Subject-Specific)

  • Kannada Language Teachers – Graduation with Kannada as an optional subject in the Arts stream, or “Kannada Pandith” course from the Karnataka State Pre-University Education Board, along with a B.Ed. degree (with Kannada as method subject where Kannada is not the graduation major).
  • English Language Teachers – Graduation with English as an optional subject, or a postgraduate diploma in English from a Regional Institute of English in South India, along with a B.Ed. with English as a method subject.
  • Hindi Language Teachers – Graduation with Hindi as an optional subject and B.Ed., or postgraduate/graduate in Hindi with B.Ed. having Hindi as a method/major subject, along with a Kannada language proficiency requirement (Kaav/Jaan/Ratna or SSLC Kannada).
  • Mathematics Teachers – Graduation in Mathematics along with one of Physics/Chemistry as an optional subject, with B.Ed. in Science method.
  • Science Teachers – Graduation in Chemistry with one of Botany/Zoology/Biology as an optional subject, with B.Ed. in Science method.
  • Social Science Teachers – Graduation with two subjects from History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, with B.Ed. in Arts method.
  • Computer Science Teachers (RPC only) – Graduation in Computer Science/Information Science/BCA/B.Sc. (Computer Science) with B.Ed.
  • Physical Education Teachers – Graduation along with a B.P.Ed. (Bachelor of Physical Education) degree.
  • Graduate Drawing Teachers – Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (B.F.A.) or Visual Arts (B.V.A.), or the Art Master certificate examination conducted by the Technical Examination Board as per G.O. No. 27 SLV 2004.
  • Diploma Drawing Teachers – Diploma in Drawing/Painting from a recognised institution, as per the same G.O.

Additional qualification: Candidates for posts 1–6 must also hold a valid Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (TET, Paper-2) or Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) certificate to be eligible to apply.

Age Limit

Candidates should be between 18 and 45 years as on the last date of application. Relaxations apply as follows:
