BARC Scientific Assistant Recruitment 2026 (Group B) – Online Apply by 18 Aug 2026

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has released a recruitment notification for Group ‘B’ Scientific Assistant (Para-medical) vacancies. Eligible candidates can apply online for the posts of Scientific Assistant/C (Psychologist) and Scientific Assistant/B (Pathology, Radiography, and Nuclear Medicine Technologist). Applications must be submitted through the BARC recruitment portal before the closing date.

This recruitment is for a total of 6 unreserved Group ‘B’ Para-medical vacancies across BARC, Mumbai, and the Radiation Medicine Research Centre (RMRC), Kolkata. The online application window is open from 2026-07-17 to 2026-08-18 (23:59 hrs). Candidates are required to register and submit the online form at recruit.barc.gov.in. Selection will be made purely on the basis of performance in a personal interview, and BARC may conduct a screening test if the number of applications received is high.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

DR/01: Scientific Assistant/C (Psychologist) — Candidates must have graduation in Psychology with a minimum of 60% marks, and a post graduation in Applied Psychology/Psychology with specialization in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology with a minimum of 50% marks. Minimum one year Hospital/Clinical experience after PG is preferred.

DR/02: Scientific Assistant/B (Pathology) — Candidates must have B.Sc with a minimum of 60% marks followed by a PG Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT) with a minimum of 60% marks, or B.Sc (Medical Lab Technology) with a minimum of 60% marks.

DR/03: Scientific Assistant/B (Radiography) — Candidates must have B.Sc (Radiography) with a minimum of 60% marks, or B.Sc with a minimum of 50% marks plus one year Diploma in Radiography.

DR/04: Scientific Assistant/B (Nuclear Medicine Technologist) — Candidates must have B.Sc with a minimum of 60% marks plus DMRIT/DNMT/DFIT with a minimum of 50% marks, or B.Sc (NMT) with a minimum of 60% marks.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age. The age limit is to be considered as on 2026-08-18. Age relaxation is applicable for departmental candidates, widows, sportspersons, and other specified categories as mentioned in the official notification.

Application Fee

The application fee is payable online only. Once paid, the fee is not refundable under any circumstances.

Salary & Pay Scale

In addition to the entry pay, selected candidates will receive allowances as admissible under Central Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection for all posts will be based purely on performance in a personal interview. BARC reserves the right to conduct a screening test if the number of applications received is high. The interview/screening test is indicated to be conducted in Mumbai, and candidates should be prepared to stay for 2 to 3 days.
