Privacy Policy

Neural Quiz Engine ("we", "us", "our") operates this website and the AI-powered MCQ practice platform at https://NQE.in. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from you when you use Neural Quiz Engine, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

1. Information we collect

When you use Neural Quiz Engine, we may collect:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash) when you register.
  • Profile information — any optional details you add to your profile.
  • Quiz activity — quizzes you create or attempt, your scores, the questions and options you author, sharing preferences, and your streak history.
  • AI generation prompts — the topic, difficulty, instructions and number of questions you submit to the AI quiz generator. These are sent to the AI provider you selected (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google).
  • Payment information — when you upgrade your plan or purchase a marketplace listing, we record the amount, payment method, payment reference ID, and our internal status. Card numbers, UPI VPAs and bank details are never stored on our servers — they are handled directly by Razorpay (PCI-DSS compliant).
  • Payment screenshots — if you choose the UPI/QR manual payment method, the screenshot you upload is stored privately and only accessible to you and our admin team for verification.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, and basic usage analytics collected via standard server logs and cookies.
  • Contact form submissions — the message, your name, email, IP and user-agent if you reach us via the contact form.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and operate your account and verify your email address.
  • To generate AI-authored quizzes you request and enforce plan limits (e.g. daily AI generation quota).
  • To process payments via Razorpay or to verify manual UPI/QR screenshots and activate your plan or unlock marketplace purchases.
  • To send transactional emails (verification, password reset, payment receipts, plan updates).
  • To detect abuse, fraudulent activity, and to enforce our Terms & Conditions.
  • To improve the product — anonymised usage statistics help us decide which features to build next.

3. Third-party services we share data with

We only share the minimum data required for each service:

  • Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd. — payment processing. Your name, email and order amount are passed to Razorpay's checkout. Razorpay's privacy policy applies to data they collect: razorpay.com/privacy.
  • AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI) — when you generate a quiz, your topic and instructions are sent to the provider you chose. We do not pass your name, email or account ID to them.
  • Email delivery — transactional emails are sent through our configured SMTP provider.
  • Hosting — our application is hosted on Hostinger; standard server logs apply.

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

4. Cookies

We use first-party cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the site — session cookies for sign-in, a CSRF token cookie, and Livewire's component state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

5. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Payment records and invoices are retained for at least 8 years to comply with Indian tax and accounting laws. You may request deletion of your account at any time by writing to contact@nqe.in; we will delete your profile, quizzes and attempts within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Data security

Passwords are stored hashed with bcrypt. Communication with the site is protected by HTTPS. Payment screenshots are served only to the uploading user and to admins, behind authentication. Despite reasonable safeguards, no internet transmission is 100% secure — please use a unique, strong password.

7. Your rights

You can:

  • Access or correct your account information from the profile page.
  • Export the quizzes you have created.
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time (we currently send only transactional emails).

8. Children

Neural Quiz Engine is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us and we will remove the account.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email.
