ISRO Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ Recruitment 2026

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space, has released the ISRO Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ Recruitment 2026 notification through its ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB). This recruitment is for 92 Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ vacancies across multiple engineering and architecture disciplines. Eligible candidates with the required BE/B.Tech (or equivalent) qualification and a valid GATE score can apply online before the closing date.

BE002 (Mechanical) includes HSFC, LPSC & URSC–Bengaluru, IPRC–Mahendragiri, LPSC–Valiamala, SAC–Ahmedabad, SDSC SHAR–Sriharikota, and VSSC–Thiruvananthapuram. BE003 (Computer Science) includes URSC–Bengaluru, MCF–Hassan, NRSC–Hyderabad, SAC–Ahmedabad, and VSSC–Thiruvananthapuram. BE004 (Civil) includes IPRC–Mahendragiri, ISRO HQ, ISTRAC & URSC–Bengaluru, LPSC–Valiamala, NRSC–Hyderabad, SDSC SHAR–Sriharikota, and VSSC–Thiruvananthapuram. BE005 (Electrical) includes NRSC–Hyderabad and SAC–Ahmedabad. BE006 (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning) includes SAC–Ahmedabad. BE007 (Architecture) includes URSC–Bengaluru and VSSC–Thiruvananthapuram. BE004A (Civil – PRL) is for PRL–Ahmedabad.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a BE/B.Tech (or equivalent) qualification in the relevant discipline as specified for each post code, along with a valid GATE score in the corresponding paper code. For Electronics (BE001), the required qualification is BE/B.Tech (or equivalent) in Electronics & Communication Engineering. For Mechanical (BE002) and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (BE006), the required qualification is BE/B.Tech (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering. For Computer Science (BE003), the required qualification is BE/B.Tech (or equivalent) in Computer Science Engineering. For Civil (BE004 and BE004A), the required qualification is BE/B.Tech (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering. For Electrical (BE005), the required qualification is BE/B.Tech (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering. For Architecture (BE007), candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and must have a valid registration certificate from the Council of Architecture.

In addition to the educational qualification, the notification specifies minimum aggregate/CGPA criteria for certain engineering disciplines. Electronics (BE001) and Mechanical (BE002 and BE006) require a minimum of 65% aggregate marks or CGPA 6.84 on a 10-point scale. The notification also requires a valid GATE score in the relevant paper code for each discipline.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 28 years as on 17 August 2026. The notification indicates that age relaxation is applicable for eligible categories, and candidates should refer to the official advertisement for the category-wise relaxation details. It also notes that women, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

The application fee is 250 per application. Women, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Fee payment is to be made online after submitting the application, via the Bharatkosh portal.

Salary & Pay Scale

The selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix. The notification specifies a minimum basic pay of 56100 per month, excluding allowances such as DA, HRA, and Transport Allowance.
