NEEPCO Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) Recruitment 2026

North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO), a Government of India Enterprise, has released a recruitment notification for Junior Engineers (Electrical and Mechanical) in S-1 Grade. The recruitment is for candidates who are registered with the Agartala Employment Exchange or the Sepahijala Employment Exchange and hold Tripura state domicile. NEEPCO has announced a total of 07 vacancies for Junior Engineer posts across two gas-based power stations in Tripura. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for Junior Engineer (Electrical) must have a Full Time Regular Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering with pass marks from the State Technical Board or a recognized institute. For the UR category, the diploma must be obtained with not less than 70% marks from the State Technical Board or a recognized institute.

Candidates applying for Junior Engineer (Mechanical) must have a Full Time Regular Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering with pass marks from the State Technical Board or a recognized institute. For the UR/EWS categories, the diploma must be obtained with not less than 70% marks from the State Technical Board or a recognized institute.

Notes on qualifications: The courses must be approved by BTE / State Technical Education Board. Only Full Time Regular courses are eligible; distance learning courses are not considered.

Age Limit

The age limit is considered as on 01-01-2026. For UR/EWS candidates, the maximum age limit is 30 years. For SC/ST candidates, the maximum age limit is 35 years, inclusive of 5 years of relaxation. Ex-Servicemen are eligible for an additional 10 years relaxation over and above the upper age limit.

In addition to age, candidates must satisfy the domicile and employment exchange registration requirement described in the notification.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selection Process

Selection for the Junior Engineer posts will be carried out through a Written Examination followed by further stages. The written test includes an Aptitude Test and a Technical Test. The Aptitude Test consists of 60 multiple-choice questions covering General English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning, and it is qualifying in nature. The Technical Test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions from the respective discipline. The total duration of the written examination is 2 hours. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Qualifying marks are specified as 40% in both sections for UR/EWS candidates and 30% in both sections for SC/ST candidates. After the written examination, a merit list will be prepared, followed by document verification and a medical examination. The notification also clarifies that no skill test will be conducted and appointment will be issued based on merit.
