Selection Process
The general selection procedure begins with a compulsory-question, multiple-choice Preliminary Test used to shortlist applicants. Wrong answers carry negative marking. The qualifying cut-off is set at 50% of the average score of the top 5% of candidates, with a 5% marks relaxation for SC and ST candidates and a 10% relaxation for PwBD candidates. The Preliminary Test carries no weight in the final assessment.
Shortlisted candidates proceed to a descriptive Main Examination and a skill test or interview, as applicable. The skill test is qualifying only; the interview or personality test assesses the candidate’s knowledge and personality. A final merit list is prepared using the Main Examination and Interview/Personality Test, and only candidates who attend both components of the final assessment are considered for merit. The notice separately states that Administrative Officer direct recruitment involves a written test and interview.
Eligible applicants should review the detailed notice and submit a complete online application with the applicable fee before the deadline that applies under the notice’s later-of-two-dates rule.
