Educational Qualification

Design Engineer (Mechanical): Applicants must hold a four-year, full-time B.E. or B.Tech degree in Mechanical, Automobile or Production Engineering from a recognised university, institution or college, with at least 55% marks. They must also have completed a certified CAD/CAE software course from a government-accredited institution or a software original equipment manufacturer’s authorised training centre. If CAD/CAE was included in the Bachelor’s or Master’s curriculum, the applicant must have earned an A+ or equivalent grade in that subject.

Design Engineer (Electrical/Electronics): Applicants must have a four-year, full-time B.E. or B.Tech degree with at least 55% marks in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, or Instrumentation and Control Engineering from a recognised university, institution or college. They must also have successfully completed certified training in MATLAB/Simulink, Electrical CAD/EDA, Circuit Design or Electrical System Simulation software through a government-accredited institution or an authorised training centre of the software OEM. If the relevant software was part of the Bachelor’s or Master’s curriculum, an A+ or equivalent grade in the subject is required.

Experience: Both disciplines require a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. Mechanical applicants should have experience in relevant areas such as Siemens NX, Simcenter 3D/Ansys, MS Project, 2D/3D CAD, simulation techniques, manufacturing processes or engineering materials. Electrical/Electronics applicants should have relevant experience with tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS Electronics, LTspice, PSpice, LabVIEW, Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, KiCad, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD or equivalent software.

Desirable qualification: A postgraduate qualification in Mechanical, Automobile or Production Engineering is preferred for the Mechanical role. For Electrical/Electronics, preference is given to candidates with postgraduate qualifications in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.

Age Limit

Selection Process

GCF will first check candidates’ qualifications, relevant post-qualification experience, age and other prescribed eligibility conditions. Eligible applicants will then be shortlisted for interview in a 1:5 ratio of vacancies to candidates, in order of merit. The shortlisting score is out of 100: qualifying-degree aggregate marks carry 50 marks, relevant post-qualification experience carries 40 marks, and a related M.E./M.Tech qualification carries 10 marks. The academic score is calculated as (percentage in the qualifying degree ÷ 100) × 50. Experience scoring starts at 20 marks for two years, with 2.5 additional marks for every completed six months beyond the minimum, up to 40 marks. A related M.E./M.Tech earns 10 marks under the desirable-qualification criterion.

Shortlisted candidates undertake a personal interview worth 50 marks and a practical assessment on CAD/CAE/modeling/simulation tools worth 50 marks. Candidates must score at least 25 out of 50 in each component; failure to meet the minimum in either assessment rules out further consideration. The final merit list is based only on interview and practical-assessment marks, subject to the qualifying thresholds. If final scores are tied, the candidate with more relevant post-qualification experience ranks higher; if the tie remains, the candidate with higher qualifying-degree marks receives preference.
