Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants must hold the prescribed medical qualifications from a recognised university or institute and should meet the criteria for the department they select. For broad specialities—including Anaesthesia, Cytology, Microbiology, Nuclear Medicine, Pathology and Radiology—the usual requirement is an MBBS degree plus a postgraduate degree (MD/MS), diploma or DNB in the concerned specialty.

If appropriately qualified postgraduate candidates are unavailable for a broad speciality, a candidate without a postgraduate qualification may be considered on an ad hoc basis. Such a candidate must have three years of experience after MBBS, including at least one year in the relevant specialty.

For super specialities—including Cardiology, CTVS, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurosurgery and Neurology—the stated qualification is a postgraduate degree (MD/MS) or DNB in Medicine or Surgery, together with a degree in the concerned super speciality (DM/MCh), DrNB or fellowship. If applicants with the required super-speciality qualification are unavailable, a candidate with a postgraduate degree or DNB in Medicine or Surgery may be considered on an ad hoc basis if they have at least one year of experience in the concerned super speciality. A valid DMC registration certificate is required. Candidates currently employed must provide a No Objection Certificate from their employer.

Age Limit

In Biochemistry, Pathology and Microbiology, the maximum age is 50 years for all categories. In other departments, the maximum age is 45 years for UR and EWS candidates, 48 years for OBC candidates, and 50 years for SC and ST candidates. The notification also specifies relaxation of five years for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC candidates; PwD candidates receive age relaxation under Government of India rules. The age and other eligibility conditions are assessed as of the application receipt deadline. Applicants must attach self-attested age proof, such as a Class 10 certificate. OBC reservation applies only to OBC candidates of Delhi, who must provide a valid Delhi Government OBC certificate and a Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued within three months before the application deadline.

The processing fee is non-refundable. Payment must be made by credit or debit card at the POS machine in the Accounts Branch, Room No. 104, at JSSH. Applicants should include the transaction receipt with their application.
