VPA Junior Hindi Officer Recruitment 2026

Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) is recruiting one Junior Hindi Officer (Class-II) through direct recruitment for its General Administration Department. Candidates who meet the prescribed postgraduate, work-experience and age requirements, including eligible applicants under the PwD (UR) reservation, may apply using the prescribed offline form.

Educational Qualification

As of 1 September 2026, applicants must hold a master’s degree from a recognised university through one of the following routes: a master’s degree in Hindi with English as a subject at degree level; a master’s degree in English with Hindi at degree level; a master’s degree in any subject with both Hindi and English at degree level; or a master’s degree in any subject through Hindi medium, with English as a subject at degree level.

Applicants must also have five years of experience in terminological work in Hindi and/or translation between English and Hindi, preferably involving technical or scientific literature, together with five years of experience in teaching, research, writing or journalism in Hindi. Desirable attributes include knowledge of Sanskrit and/or a modern Indian language, administrative experience, and experience arranging Hindi classes or workshops on noting and drafting.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 35 years as of 1 September 2026. Age relaxation for eligible categories is available under Government of India guidelines. Existing officers or employees of Major Port Authorities who meet the required qualifications and experience may apply up to the age of 55 years. Applicants claiming an age relaxation must include copies of relevant certificates and be prepared to show the originals during document scrutiny or at another stage of recruitment.

Nationality

Applicants must fall within one of the nationality or residency categories specified in the notification: Indian citizens; subjects of Nepal or Bhutan; Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1 January 1962 intending to settle permanently; or people of Indian origin who migrated intending to settle permanently from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or the listed East African countries and territories of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official VPA website and download the vacancy notification and the prescribed Bio-Data Form (Annexure-I).

Salary & Pay Scale

The post carries a pay scale of INR 40,000–1,40,000, with pre-revised scales stated as INR 16,400–40,500 / 8,600–14,600. The package includes basic pay, dearness allowance (DA) under the IDA pattern and cafeteria allowances at 35% of basic pay. Other benefits, subject to applicable VPA and Government of India rules, include gratuity, HRA or quarters, medical benefits, leave encashment, NPS and group insurance.

Selection Process

VPA may conduct a written examination, an interview, or both, depending on the number of eligible applications received. If both stages are held, the written examination carries 85% weightage and the interview carries 15%. The selection schedule has not been announced.
