The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) is recruiting for 78 Technician Grade-II positions in Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Ltd (PTCUL) and Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (UJVNL). No vacancies are earmarked for the Divyang (PwD) horizontal category in these three posts. Reservation benefits are available only to Uttarakhand-domiciled candidates who claim them in the application. The notification lists vertical reservation shares of 19% for SC, 4% for ST, 14% for OBC and 10% for EWS. Its stated horizontal shares are 30% for Uttarakhand women, 10% for state agitators or their dependents, 5% for ex-servicemen, 5% for orphans, 4% for Divyang candidates, 4% for skilled sportspersons and 2% for dependents of freedom fighters.

The EWS certificate must be issued between 01 April 2026 and 25 November 2026 and relate to income for 2025–26. An OBC certificate remains valid for three years from its issue date and must be valid on the application deadline. If a candidate claims more than one sub-category, only the most favourable applicable benefit is allowed. An ex-serviceman who has already obtained a job using the ex-servicemen quota cannot claim that quota again.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must hold the specified High School qualification and ITI trade certificate for the post they select. The experience certificate may be issued by a government or semi-government organisation, a limited or private limited company, or a registered private company or firm. Required qualifications must be obtained by the final application date.

For these Group C posts, candidates must also satisfy at least one of the following Uttarakhand-related conditions: be registered with an employment exchange in Uttarakhand by the application deadline; hold a Uttarakhand domicile or permanent-residence certificate; or have passed High School and Intermediate, or equivalent examinations, from a recognised institution in Uttarakhand. Candidates already employed in Uttarakhand state government service do not need employment-exchange registration. Ex-servicemen registered with a District Sainik Kalyan office are treated as registered for this purpose.

The candidate must be an Indian citizen or belong to another eligible nationality category identified in the notification, including a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1 January 1962 or a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries. Candidates in these other eligible categories must hold an eligibility certificate from the state government.

Age Limit

Applicants must be between 18 and 42 years old on 01 July 2026. This corresponds to birth dates from 02 July 1984 through 01 July 2008. The listed age relaxations for Uttarakhand categories are five years for SC, ST and OBC candidates; ten years for Divyang (PwD) candidates; and five years for dependents of freedom fighters. For ex-servicemen, military service is deducted from actual age, but the resulting age must not exceed the upper age limit by more than three years.

Payment must be made online using a debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI. The notification says that a payment amount will be refunded if the transaction fails for a technical reason.

How to Apply

Submit the application through the official UKSSSC website, sssc.uk.gov.in, during the application period. Complete the following steps carefully:

  1. Register and enter personal details. Register using your Aadhaar number, your own mobile number and your email address. An Aadhaar number can be used only once. Save the registration number and password for later access.
  2. Provide education and other information. Enter your qualifications, experience and category details, then indicate your preferred post and department.
  3. Upload the required image files. The photograph is captured using the live camera and face-detection facility. Upload your signature and left thumb impression as JPG/JPEG files measuring 150 × 100 pixels.
  4. Pay the applicable fee. Complete online payment using one of the accepted payment methods, unless your category is exempt.
  5. Check completion and keep a copy. The application is complete only when its status shows “Completed”. Print and retain the completed form for future reference.

Prepare the High School certificate for verification of name and date of birth, both sides of the Aadhaar card, relevant vertical- and horizontal-reservation certificates, and the two-year experience certificate. The candidate’s name, father’s name and date of birth should match the High School certificate. Submit only one application for each post; multiple forms will be cancelled. During the correction window, the name, parents’ names, age and examination centre cannot be changed. Applying well before the closing date may help avoid delays if the website is busy.

Salary & Pay Scale

All three post-and-department combinations carry Pay Level 4, with a pay scale of INR 27,200 to INR 86,100 per month. Allowances are payable according to Uttarakhand state rules. The posts are described as permanent and non-gazetted, and are covered by the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF).

Selection Process

Minimum qualifying marks are 45% for UR, EWS and OBC candidates and 35% for SC and ST candidates. Marking multiple options, using whitener or making a cutting on the OMR sheet is treated as a wrong answer. Candidates may take the question booklet and the third copy of the OMR sheet home. The answer key will be published on the Commission’s website, and an objection costs INR 50 per question.

If candidates have equal scores, the older candidate is ranked higher; if their ages are also equal, ranking is decided by English alphabetical order. Allotment of the post and department depends on merit and the preferences entered in the application.
