Thane Municipal Corporation Recruitment 2026 for 61 GNM & MPW Posts

The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has released a recruitment notification dated 2026-07-29 for filling 61 contractual posts of GNM (Female), GNM (Male), and Multi-Purpose Worker (MPW). The recruitment is being conducted by the Medical Health Officer, Thane Municipal Corporation, for postings within the Corporation under the “Fifteenth Finance Commission” programme. Eligible and interested candidates can apply using the prescribed online Google Form and must also complete physical submission of documents within the stated deadline.

In total, 61 vacancies are notified across three post categories. The application process starts with the online Google Form submission, and completed applications along with self-attested documents must be submitted physically at the Public Health Department office by 2026-08-07 up to 2:00 PM. The posts are contractual in nature for a period of 11 months and 29 days, and the recruitment is based on a merit list prepared out of 100 marks as per the criteria mentioned in the notification. Candidates should note that these are not regular State Government posts, and they cannot claim absorption or regularisation against any regular State Government post based on this recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

GNM (Female/Male): Candidates must have a B.Sc Nursing or a GNM course along with MNC (Maharashtra Nursing Council) registration.

Multi-Purpose Worker (MPW): Candidates must have passed 12th standard in Science and also possess either a Paramedical Basic Training Course or a Sanitary Inspector Course.

For both categories, the notification also indicates a preference for experienced candidates in the relevant field/post.

Age Limit

GNM (Female & Male): Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 38 years.

MPW (Male): Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 65 years.

Age will be calculated as on the date of publication of the advertisement, i.e., 2026-07-29. Age relaxation of up to 43 years (against the standard 38 years) is applicable for reserved category candidates as per the applicable HR policy. Additionally, serving contractual employees under the National Health Mission may be eligible for age relaxation as per NHM norms.

The fee must be paid through a Demand Draft (DD) of a Nationalized Bank drawn in favour of “Integrated Health and Family Welfare Society”.

5. After completing the online form, submit the physical application along with the required Demand Draft and self-attested photocopies of all documents.

Salary & Pay Scale

The notification specifies consolidated honorarium for the contractual period.

Selection Process

Selection for these contractual posts will be based on a merit list prepared out of a total of 100 marks. The notification details the scoring as follows: marks in the qualifying examination (final year) are calculated out of 50 marks based on the percentage obtained; additional educational qualification beyond the essential qualification in the relevant subject is calculated out of 20 marks based on the percentage obtained; and relevant experience in the applied post is awarded at 6 marks per year, with a maximum of 30 marks.
