Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must be Engineering Graduates, Non-Engineering Graduates, or Diploma holders. The qualifying examination must have been passed in one of the allowed years: 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026. If the qualifying examination was completed in any other year, the candidature will not be considered and will be rejected during scrutiny.

Age Limit

The age limit is calculated as on 2026-07-31. For the General category, candidates must be between 18 and 28 years. For SC/ST/BC candidates, the age limit is 18 to 33 years, with a relaxation of 5 years as specified in the notification.

Other conditions include the following: candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training or are currently registered for apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, in SCCL or any other organization are not eligible and must submit an undertaking to that effect. Additionally, candidates must have a bank account (or open one) with Union Bank of India (UBI) in any SCCL salary-disbursing branch, with Aadhaar linking, e-KYC, and DBT enabled. This is required because 50% of the stipend is transferred via NATS & BOAT, MoE, GoI through the DBT system.

The stipend is shared equally: 50% is paid by SCCL and 50% is paid by BOAT (Southern Region)/NATS 2.0 under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The amount is credited directly into the apprentice’s Aadhaar-enabled bank account under the DBT system.

Selection Process
