  1. Open the official SBI website at sbi.bank.in and go to the Careers section.
  2. Open “Current Openings” and locate the Probationary Officer recruitment under Advertisement No. CRPD/PO/2026-27/09.

Selection Process

The SBI PO selection process has three phases. Phase I, the Preliminary Examination, is qualifying in nature and its marks are not included in the final merit list. Phase II is the Main Examination, held on 12 September 2026. Candidates shortlisted from Mains proceed to Phase III, comprising a psychometric test followed by a group exercise and interview. SBI has tentatively scheduled the psychometric test for 31 October 2026 and the group exercise and interviews from 18 November 2026 onwards; exact dates and times will be provided through call letters. The psychometric test assesses personality traits, decision-making and suitability for the Probationary Officer role, while the group exercise and interview assess communication, general awareness and banking knowledge. SBI will prepare the final merit list using Mains marks for 75% of the weight and Phase III marks for 25%. The final result will be announced after Phase III.

Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the shortlist should keep checking SBI’s official website and their registered SMS and email for the call letter, then follow the schedule and document instructions provided by the bank.
