Salary & Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive a stipend during their apprenticeship in accordance with the applicable rules. The notification does not specify a stipend amount. The training period will follow the Apprentices Act, 1961, and each selected candidate must enter into an Apprenticeship Training Contract before training begins. Training does not create a right to absorption or employment in the Railway after completion. No hostel accommodation will be provided, so apprentices must arrange their own accommodation.
Selection Process
Applications will first be screened and scrutinised. There is no written examination or viva. Merit is calculated by averaging the percentage marks obtained in Matriculation and ITI, with equal weight given to each qualification; the Class 10 result must include at least 50% aggregate marks. The merit list is prepared cluster-wise, trade-wise and community-wise, in descending order of marks, up to the available slots. If candidates tie, preference goes to the older candidate. If their dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier is ranked first.
For boards using grades, the midpoint of the applicable grade range is used. Candidates must convert CGPA or grades into actual marks for their application. For ITI, the average marks in the consolidated statement covering all semesters of the relevant trade are considered. Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification and must bring their original documents and self-attested copies.
Eligible candidates should complete the online form and submit it by 11 December 2026 at 23:59. Check the official notification and portal for the application instructions and supporting-document requirements before final submission.
