The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), Ministry of Railways, have released the application status for CEN No. 04/2026. Applicants for Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts can sign in to check whether their form was accepted, conditionally accepted or rejected.

The status became available from 7 October 2026 at rrbapply.gov.in, using the credentials created during the application process. This is a status update rather than a new application window: the notice does not provide application opening or closing dates, a vacancy total or a separate selection schedule. Applicants whose forms are accepted should prepare for the Computer Based Test (CBT); the exam date and admit card schedule have not been announced in this notice.

Vacancy Details

The application status applies to three post groups under CEN No. 04/2026: Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant. This status notice does not state the total or post-wise number of vacancies.

How to Apply

No new application is being accepted through this status update. Candidates who already applied can follow these steps to view their application decision:

  1. Visit the official application portal at rrbapply.gov.in.
  2. Sign in using the user credentials created when submitting the application.
  3. Open the CEN No. 04/2026 application from the dashboard.
  4. Check whether the application is marked Provisionally Accepted, Conditionally Accepted or Rejected.
  5. If the application is rejected, read the reason displayed in the login account. For a conditionally accepted application, review the remark and keep the relevant documents ready.
  6. Save a screenshot or printout of the status for your records.

RRB says it will also send status alerts to the mobile number and email address provided in the application. Applicants can consult the official application status notice and check rrb.indianrailways.gov.in for recruitment updates.

Selection Process

The status categories describe the outcome of the application scrutiny, not final selection. Provisionally Accepted means the application met the requirements at this stage, subject to later verification. Conditionally Accepted means the application has been accepted subject to conditions; candidates should check the login remark and prepare any related documents. Rejected means the application was not accepted, with the reason shown in the candidate’s account. RRB states it cannot entertain correspondence from ineligible or rejected candidates.

Accepted candidates should prepare for the CBT and watch for official announcements about the exam city slip and admit card. Acceptance remains provisional and does not guarantee selection. RRB may cancel candidature at any stage, including after recruitment, if information is inconsistent, deficient or false, or if malpractice is identified. The board also reserves the right to correct inadvertent, typographical or printing errors in the list.

For application-status queries, candidates may call 9592-001-188 or 0172-565-3333, or email rrb.help@csc.gov.in. Helpdesk hours are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. RRB warns candidates not to pay touts who promise selection: recruitment is computerised and selection is based on merit.

Applicants should check their status promptly, retain a copy of the result and follow updates only through official RRB channels. Those with accepted applications should keep their certificates ready and prepare for the next announced stage.
