RSLSA Legal Researcher Recruitment 2026

Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority (RSLSA) is inviting applications for three Legal Researcher positions at its Jodhpur and Jaipur locations. The opportunity is intended for fresh law graduates or postgraduates, including candidates in their final semester who can meet the result-submission requirement before final selection.

The engagement is temporary and contractual, with a total term of two years and an initial six-month appointment subject to performance. RSLSA has announced three Legal Researcher vacancies. Two positions are assigned to the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority in Jodhpur, and one is assigned to its Jaipur location.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants must be fresh law graduates or postgraduates in law from a university, college, or institution established by law in India. Candidates appearing in their final semester may apply, but must submit their final result before the final selection process, including scrutiny or interview. Applicants should have research aptitude and a good understanding of research tools, along with working computer knowledge and typing skills. Candidates must be Indian citizens.

Age Limit

The age is assessed as of 1 January 2027. A candidate must not have attained 33 years of age by that date; the notification states that candidates must not be more than 33 years old. No age-relaxation provision is specified in the notification.

Other Conditions

Candidates must not have more than one living spouse or be married to a person who already has a living spouse. Applicants must not be involved in a criminal case, whether convicted or facing a pending criminal trial, and must not have been debarred from an examination or rusticated by an institute, authority, or public service commission. Candidates must also be medically fit and of integrity, honesty, and good moral character. Two responsible persons who are not blood relatives must certify the candidate’s character; the required certificates are to be provided at the interview as specified in the application format.

Application Fee

The notification does not specify an application fee. Candidates should check the official instructions and prescribed application materials for any applicable requirements before submitting their forms.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official RSLSA website and download the prescribed application form and general instructions. The detailed notification contains the recruitment terms.
2. Read the instructions carefully and complete the form with the requested personal, educational, and professional information.
3. Affix a recent coloured passport-size photograph, taken within the last six months, with your signature on it.
4. Attach self-attested copies of documents supporting your age and educational qualifications, along with copies of extracurricular activity and experience certificates, where applicable.
5. Include the undertaking on the prescribed proforma confirming that you will not practise in any court of law or engage in another professional pursuit.
6. Attach a checklist listing the certificates and testimonials enclosed. Arrange to provide the character certificates from two responsible persons who are not blood relatives as required by the application instructions.
7. Review the form and enclosures, then sign the completed application. Mark the envelope “APPLICATION FOR THE LEGAL RESEARCHER”.
8. Send the application by Speed Post, Registered Post, or courier, or deliver it by hand during office hours, to: Member Secretary, Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur Vidhik Seva Sadan, Rajasthan High Court Campus, C-Scheme, Jaipur – 302005.
9. Ensure the completed application reaches the stated office on or before 31 October 2026.

Salary & Pay Scale

The Legal Researcher will receive a fixed honorarium of INR 50,000 per month. No dearness allowance, other allowance, or perquisite is payable. The honorarium may be reduced proportionately for unauthorised absence or absence beyond the permissible leave period.

The engagement is for two years, with the initial appointment made for six months and continued subject to performance. After successful completion of the two-year term, a further extension of one year may be considered in deserving cases. The contractual engagement does not create a right to regular appointment or any other benefit of that kind.

Selection Process

Applications will first be scrutinised. RSLSA may shortlist candidates where necessary, taking account of research achievements, academic record, and computer skills. Shortlisted applicants may be called for screening or interview, followed by document verification. The Selection Committee constituted by the Hon’ble Executive Chairman, RSLSA, will assess suitability through screening, interview, or another process, considering research and academic records as well as language communication and computer skills. Screening and interview dates will be announced on the official website, and candidates may also receive personal intimation.
