RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. (RCIL) has released the RailTel Apprentice Recruitment 2026 for engagement of Graduate Engineers and Diploma Engineers as apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have either a Full-Time Regular four-year engineering degree in a relevant stream/branch or a Full-Time Regular three-year diploma in engineering/technology from colleges approved by AICTE. The required aggregate marks are 60% in the relevant stream/branch. The eligible branches include Electronics & Telecommunication, Telecommunication, Computer Science & Engineering or Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or any other combination of engineering branches where Electronics is one of the main branches (for example, Electronics & Instrumentation).
In addition, candidates who have passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institute of Engineers (India), or the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India), in the relevant branches mentioned above are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit
The age limit is 18 to 27 years as on the date of notification, which is 28.07.2026. Relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be applicable as per the Presidential/Governmental directives.
Other eligibility conditions also apply. Candidates are not eligible if they have already undergone training or have job/work experience of one year or more after attaining the required qualification. Candidates who completed three years after their graduation/diploma are not considered for apprenticeship. Those who have already completed apprenticeship, terminated apprenticeship mid-way, or are currently pursuing apprenticeship with other organizations are not eligible. Further, qualifications obtained through distance learning or part-time mode are not eligible for this recruitment.

The apprentice will receive a consolidated monthly stipend with the RailTel and Government of India (DBT share) components as shown above. The apprentice will not be entitled to any other benefit, facility, or allowance apart from the consolidated stipend.
Selection Process
After receiving online applications through the NATS portal, RCIL will prepare a merit list region/state/location-wise. Preference is given to candidates from Government Institutions. Shortlisting will be based on the merit list prepared using marks obtained in the required qualification (minimum eligibility) and/or through an interview, wherever required. Only candidates who are medically fit as per RCIL’s norms will be considered for engagement. Candidates should also remember that meeting eligibility criteria alone does not ensure selection.
