RailTel Apprentice Recruitment 2026

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. (RCIL) has released the RailTel Apprentice Recruitment 2026 for engagement of Graduate Engineers and Diploma Engineers as apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Eligible candidates are required to submit their applications online through the NATS 2.0 portal. If you meet the educational and age requirements, you can apply for the apprenticeship positions announced for 2026.

This recruitment is for a total of 40 apprentice seats, including 32 Graduate Engineer apprentices and 8 Diploma Engineer apprentices, across various locations in India. The online application window is open from the notification date and closes on 27 August 2026. Applications must be submitted only through the NATS 2.0 portal, and the selection will be based on a merit list and/or an interview, as applicable, followed by medical fitness verification as per RCIL norms. Candidates should note that simply meeting eligibility does not guarantee engagement.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have either a Full-Time Regular four-year engineering degree in a relevant stream/branch or a Full-Time Regular three-year diploma in engineering/technology from colleges approved by AICTE. The required aggregate marks are 60% in the relevant stream/branch. The eligible branches include Electronics & Telecommunication, Telecommunication, Computer Science & Engineering or Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or any other combination of engineering branches where Electronics is one of the main branches (for example, Electronics & Instrumentation).

In addition, candidates who have passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institute of Engineers (India), or the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India), in the relevant branches mentioned above are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit

The age limit is 18 to 27 years as on the date of notification, which is 28.07.2026. Relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be applicable as per the Presidential/Governmental directives.

Other eligibility conditions also apply. Candidates are not eligible if they have already undergone training or have job/work experience of one year or more after attaining the required qualification. Candidates who completed three years after their graduation/diploma are not considered for apprenticeship. Those who have already completed apprenticeship, terminated apprenticeship mid-way, or are currently pursuing apprenticeship with other organizations are not eligible. Further, qualifications obtained through distance learning or part-time mode are not eligible for this recruitment.

How to Apply

1. Go to the official NATS 2.0 portal: https://nats.education.gov.in.
2. If you are not already registered on NATS 2.0, complete the registration before starting your application.
3. Log in to your account and search for the RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. apprenticeship opportunity.
4. Fill the application form carefully with your personal details, educational details, and location preference.
5. In the “Upload Certificate” section, upload the certificate showing your CGPA or percentage. If your certificate mentions only CGPA, also upload the CGPA-to-percentage conversion formula/certificate.
6. Attach the duly filled undertaking (Annexure-I) along with the required documents as a single PDF file of size less than 1 MB.
7. Review all entered information and uploaded documents thoroughly before submitting.
8. Submit the application before the last date, i.e., 27 August 2026.

Salary & Pay Scale

The apprentice will receive a consolidated monthly stipend with the RailTel and Government of India (DBT share) components as shown above. The apprentice will not be entitled to any other benefit, facility, or allowance apart from the consolidated stipend.

Selection Process

After receiving online applications through the NATS portal, RCIL will prepare a merit list region/state/location-wise. Preference is given to candidates from Government Institutions. Shortlisting will be based on the merit list prepared using marks obtained in the required qualification (minimum eligibility) and/or through an interview, wherever required. Only candidates who are medically fit as per RCIL’s norms will be considered for engagement. Candidates should also remember that meeting eligibility criteria alone does not ensure selection.
