Educational Qualification

(Engg.) in Electrical Engineering (4-year course) for Graduate (Electrical) or in Civil Engineering (4-year course) for Graduate (Civil). Age Limit
The minimum age requirement is 18 years completed as on the date of application. In addition to the age criterion, candidates must meet the passing-year window: the result of the final qualifying examination should be declared between 2024-09-11 and 2026-09-10. Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship in any organization are not eligible. Candidates with more than 1 year of job experience are also not eligible. In addition, where accommodation is not provided, candidates are eligible for HRA of 2500 per month as per the apprenticeship training details.
Selection Process
POWERGRID will select apprentices based on merit derived from the marks obtained in the qualifying educational examination. After application screening, candidates will be called for document verification in merit order in a ratio of 1:5 against the notified training slots. There is no written test or interview. Reservation will be applied for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD as per the Apprentices Act 1961 and the Apprenticeship Rules 1992 (as amended from time to time). A final merit list will be prepared from candidates found suitable during document verification. Selected candidates will then be engaged in merit order after accepting the tri-partite apprenticeship contract on the NATS/NAPS portal, and after submitting a medical certificate and completing police verification. No TA/DA is paid for attending document verification.
