Selection Process
The CBT is an online test of objective questions carrying 100 marks, with a duration of one hour and 30 minutes. It covers General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude, with 25 questions and 25 marks for each subject. Compensatory time is allowed for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities in accordance with Government guidelines.
For Grade B and Grade C posts, the process is a CBT followed by a Personal Interview. The CBT carries 85% of the final score and the interview carries 15%; the final score is calculated as (CBT marks out of 100 × 0.85) + interview marks out of 15. Candidates qualifying in the CBT are called for interview in a 1:5 ratio. The stated CBT qualifying marks are 50 out of 100 for UR posts and posts reserved for OBC-NCL and EWS, and 40 out of 100 for posts reserved for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.
For Grade A posts, the CBT is followed by a Proficiency Test/Skill Test. Candidates qualifying in the CBT are shortlisted for that test in a 1:2 ratio. The skill or proficiency test is qualifying only, carries no weight in the final score, and requires 50 out of 100 to qualify. The final merit list is based solely on CBT marks for candidates who pass the test. The notification states a CBT qualifying score of 50 out of 100 for UR and OBC-NCL posts.
Appointment is conditional on passing a Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME). The examination may be conducted at OIL Hospital, Duliajan, Assam, by a Government Medical Officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon, or by an authorised medical officer at a company-empanelled hospital. Candidates must meet the physical fitness standards published on OIL’s website.
Selected candidates may be posted at any OIL operational area or office according to Company requirements. Although projected vacancies are primarily for Field Headquarters at Duliajan, Assam, OIL may assign candidates elsewhere.
Eligible candidates should check the detailed notification and submit their online application, including the required documents and any applicable fee, before 11:00 hours on 14 November 2026.
