Selection Process
The Screening Test is an objective examination of 100 questions for 100 marks, with one mark for each question. It lasts two hours. Each incorrect response attracts a deduction of 0.25 marks; unanswered questions receive no negative mark. Part A covers the general syllabus for 20 marks, while Part B assesses domain knowledge for 80 marks. The general topics are General Intelligence and Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge and Computer Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. The domain syllabus includes the NITSER Act and Statutes; Fundamental Rules; CCS Conduct, CCA, Leave and Pension Rules; GPF, NPS, LTC, TA and Gratuity Rules; GFR-2017; GeM and CPPP; reservation rules; purchase procedures, tendering and contract management; CGHS/CS(MA) Rules; general accounting procedures and PFMS; IT and GST; the RTI Act; labour laws; academic administration; the Constitution of India; finance and audit of autonomous bodies; and C&AG-related topics.
Superintendent and Senior Assistant candidates must also take a Skill Test. This test is qualifying only; the merit list is based solely on marks in the Stage 1 Screening Test. For Superintendent, the test assesses word processing and spreadsheet proficiency over 20 minutes for 40 marks. The minimum is 14 marks (35%) for UR candidates and 12 marks (30%) for reserved candidates. For Senior Assistant, the skill assessment comprises a 10-minute typing test and a 20-minute word-processing and spreadsheet proficiency test. More than 7% typing errors disqualify UR candidates, while more than 10% errors disqualify reserved candidates. The notification states that a tie in total marks is resolved first by higher marks in Part B of the Screening Test and then by preference for the older candidate.
For all other listed posts, the stated selection method is the Screening Test only. The examination date has not yet been announced.
Eligible Indian Nationals should check the post and specialization requirements carefully and submit the online form, fee and supporting documents before the 30 October 2026 deadline.
