NIT Agartala Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026

National Institute of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala) has opened recruitment for 51 non-teaching vacancies in eight post categories, including technical, laboratory, library, sports and pharmacy roles. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Eligibility depends on the post and is prescribed under the Recruitment Rules (2019) for non-teaching staff in NITs. For Technical Assistant, Junior Engineer, Library & Information Assistant and SAS Assistant positions at PL-6, the stated requirements include a first-class B.E./B.Tech., MCA, engineering diploma or bachelor’s degree in science, or another relevant qualification specific to the post. Examples given include B.Tech. in Civil or Electrical Engineering for Junior Engineer and a bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Science for Library & Information Assistant.

For Pharmacist, applicants need 10+2 in Science with PCB or PCM, a two-year Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, and registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948. Senior Technician applicants need Senior Secondary (10+2) with Science and at least 60% marks, or an equivalent ITI or diploma qualification as specified under RR-2019. Technician applicants need 10+2 with Science and at least 60% marks, or an equivalent ITI or diploma qualification. Lab Attendant applicants need 10+2 in Science from a recognised board. Where a degree or diploma certificate does not specify first class or division, the stated equivalent is at least 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate marks.

Age Limit

The maximum age is 30 years for Technical Assistant, Junior Engineer, Library & Information Assistant and SAS Assistant; 27 years for Pharmacist, Technician and Lab Attendant; and 33 years for Senior Technician. Application Fee

How to Apply

3. Open the online application portal and complete the new registration using a valid, active mobile number and email address.
4. Enter the required personal details, category and post code, then save and continue. Submit a separate application, with a separate fee, for every post you wish to apply for.
5. Upload a recent colour passport-size photograph. It must be no more than three months old, show a clear front view, and be taken without a cap, scarf or sunglasses.
6. Enter your education, experience where applicable, and other requested biographical information.
7. Upload the supporting documents and testimonials as self-attested copies combined into one PDF file no larger than 10 MB.
8. Check the application preview carefully. The notification advises that changes cannot be made after the details are finally saved.
9. Choose a payment method and pay the applicable fee online, unless you are applying in the PwD category, for which no fee is specified.
10. Submit the completed form and keep printed copies of the application and fee receipt for future reference.

Keep the following documents and information ready: a 10th-standard certificate showing date of birth; Class 12 or equivalent certificate and marksheet; degree, ITI or diploma certificates and marksheets for all academic years; prescribed DoPT-format community certificate for applicable SC, ST or OBC-NCL applicants; an EWS certificate issued on or after 1 April 2025, where applicable; disability or medical certificate for PwBD applicants, where applicable; experience certificates from the head of the relevant organisation, if applicable; a recent photograph; and valid photo identification such as Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, driving licence or passport.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selection Process

Selection for the advertised Group B and Group C posts will be through a Computer Based Test (CBT); no interview will be held. The final merit list will be prepared using candidates’ CBT marks, subject to qualifying any skill test prescribed for the relevant post.
