NICL Assistant Recruitment 2026 (500 Vacancies)

National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) has released a recruitment notification for the post of Assistant (Class III cadre). The recruitment drive is aimed at filling 500 vacancies across the organisation. Eligible candidates can apply online during the registration window and must be prepared to go through multiple stages of selection, including online examinations and a regional language test.

NICL will fill 500 Assistant vacancies for the year 2026-27. Online registration is open from 2026-07-18 to 2026-08-07, and applications must be submitted through the online mode only. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government, as on 2026-07-01.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 21 years old and not more than 30 years old to apply online. The notification specifies that candidates born not earlier than 1996-07-02 and not later than 2005-07-01 are eligible.

Age relaxation is available for specified categories as follows: SC/ST candidates get 5 years relaxation; OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates get 3 years; PwBD (General/EWS) candidates get 10 years; PwBD (SC/ST) candidates get 15 years; PwBD (OBC) candidates get 13 years. Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen candidates are eligible for relaxation equal to service period plus 3 years (with an 8 years relaxation for SC/ST and a maximum age of 50 years). Widows/Divorced/Separated Women candidates get relaxation up to 35 years for Gen/EWS, 38 years for OBC, and 40 years for SC/ST. Existing employees of the company are eligible for 5 years relaxation.

Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1962-01-01, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Application Fee

The fee for other candidates is 850 INR and includes intimation charges. The notification also states that the application fee, once paid, will not be refunded or adjusted against any future recruitment.

5. Log in using the credentials and fill in the application form with required details such as personal information, educational qualifications, category, and State/UT preference.
6. Upload the required documents, including photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and a hand-written declaration, as per the specifications mentioned in the notification.
7. Pay the application fee online using any of the available payment methods (debit card, credit card, net banking, IMPS, or mobile wallet).
8. Review and verify all information, then click “COMPLETE REGISTRATION”.
9. Download and print the submitted application and the fee receipt for your records.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive a starting basic pay of 36290 INR in the pay scale: 36290-2115(1)-38405-2310(2)-43025-2600(5)-56025-3005(2)-62035-3660(3)-73015-3800(2)-80615-4050(5)-100865. The notification mentions that total gross emoluments are approximately 53000 INR per month in the initial stage in a metro city, along with other benefits such as Lump Sum Domiciliary Medical Benefit, Group Mediclaim Policy, Leave Travel Subsidy, and other staff welfare schemes.

Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted in multiple stages. Candidates must qualify each stage to be considered for final selection. The stages are: (1) Preliminary Examination (online), (2) Main Examination (online), and (3) Regional Language Test, which is qualifying in nature. The final merit list will be prepared based on candidates’ performance in the Main Examination, subject to qualifying the Regional Language Test.
