The Machine Tool Prototype Factory (MTPF), Ambarnath has released a recruitment notification for the engagement of the 61st Batch of Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the (Amendment) Act, 1973. This recruitment is for Non-ITI and Ex-ITI candidates across multiple trades. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

For the Non-ITI category, candidates must have passed Madhyamik (Class X or equivalent) as on the date of the notification, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in Mathematics and Science each.

For the ITI (Ex-ITI) category, candidates must have passed the relevant trade test from an institute recognized by NCVT or SCVT (or any authority notified by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship / Ministry of Labour and Employment). They must also have passed Matriculation/Class X or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in both Matriculation and ITI. The relevant trade will be considered strictly as per the Schedule of the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 15 and 24 years of age as on the last date of receipt of the application (application must reach by 2025-09-01).

Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India directives for SC/ST, OBC, EWS, and PH/PC/differently-abled candidates. For ITI candidates, the upper age limit is further relaxed by the normal duration of NCVT/SCVT training undergone in the relevant trade.

How to Apply

  1. Download the application format given in Annexure-I of the official notification.

  3. Paste a recent passport-size colour photograph and sign the application form.
  4. Attach self-attested copies of the required documents, including: Identity Card (if Aadhaar is not available); SSC/Matriculation (10th Standard) or equivalent mark sheet and certificate showing date of birth; consolidated ITI mark sheet or Provisional National Trade Certificate for Ex-ITI candidates; National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT for Ex-ITI candidates; caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates (OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued within the last three years); physical disability certificate for PH/PWD candidates; and EWS certificate issued by Tehsildar/District Magistrate, if applicable.
  5. Send the completed application along with all enclosures to: “The Chief General Manager, Machine Tool Prototype Factory, A Unit of AVNL, Govt. of India Enterprise, Ambarnath, Dist – Thane, Maharashtra, Pin: 421502”. The application must reach on or before 2025-09-01.

Salary & Pay Scale

Trade Apprentices will receive a minimum monthly stipend as per AVNL Letter No. AVNL/CO/HR/12/T&D/2025-26 dated 30.04.2025. No other allowance is mentioned as payable during the apprenticeship period.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on a merit list prepared separately for Non-ITI and Ex-ITI categories.

For the Non-ITI category, a common merit list will be prepared based on the overall percentage of marks obtained in Madhyamik/Matriculation (Class X or equivalent), considering aggregate across all subjects irrespective of the Board. Trades will be allotted on a merit-cum-choice basis after selection.

For the Ex-ITI category, a trade-wise merit list will be prepared using the simple average of the percentage of marks in both Matriculation and ITI, with the condition that candidates must have at least 50% aggregate marks in each. Based on vacancy position, select lists will be prepared, and only provisionally selected candidates will be called for Document Verification and Medical Examination.

Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements should complete and send their offline applications well before 2025-09-01 to ensure timely receipt at the MTPF Ambarnath office.
