Selection Process
The selection process comprises a written test and a personal interview. The written test is divided into three parts: Part A covers the relevant area or discipline and carries 60 marks over 75 minutes, with +1 and -1/3 marking; Part B tests aptitude and ability for 20 marks over 30 minutes, with no negative marking; and Part C consists of technical descriptive questions relevant to the notified specialization and carries 20 marks over 30 minutes. Part B covers numerical, logical, diagrammatic, abstract and deductive reasoning. The written test is worth 100 marks in total.
Based on written-test performance, candidates are shortlisted for interview in a 1:5 ratio, with a minimum of 10 candidates. Candidates must secure at least 50% in each of Parts A, B and C, at least 50 out of 100 in the interview, and an aggregate minimum of 60% to qualify. The final panel gives equal weight to written-test and interview marks, with 50% weight assigned to each. If scores are tied, the Centre applies these tie-breakers in order: written-test marks, marks in the essential M.E./M.Tech qualification, and date of birth, with the older candidate ranked higher.
Eligible candidates should review the official LPSC/03/2026 notification, confirm that their qualifications match the selected discipline and submit the online application before 1400 hrs on 13 October 2026.
