ISRO URSC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 (410 Vacancies)

U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), a major centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has released the notification for engagement of Apprentices for the year 2026-27. This recruitment is for one-year Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the Amendment Act, 1973. Candidates who have completed the required Graduate (B.E./B.Tech.), Technician (Diploma), or Commercial Practice (Diploma) qualifications can apply online through the prescribed portals.

The URSC apprenticeship recruitment offers a total of 410 vacancies across Graduate, Technician, and Commercial Practice categories. Online registration is scheduled to begin on 2026-07-29 and close on 2026-08-28. Applications must be submitted online via the NATS Portal and the UMANG Portal. Selection will be merit-based using the percentage of marks obtained in the relevant educational qualification, followed by Document Verification and further steps leading to final induction based on a panel and position.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must meet the minimum educational requirements as per the apprenticeship category. For Graduate Apprentices, the candidate must possess B.E./B.Tech. in the concerned discipline from any recognized university. For Technician Apprentices, the candidate must possess a Diploma in the respective discipline from a recognized State Board. For Commercial Practice Apprentices, the candidate must possess a Diploma in Commercial Practice from a recognized board.

Only regular candidates are eligible, and the qualifying examination must have been completed as a regular candidate. Candidates with sandwich course certificates, private college degrees, or short-term/certificate courses are not acceptable. Candidates who are pursuing higher studies are also not acceptable.

How to Apply

1. Open the NATS Portal and register as a student: https://nats.education.gov.in/.
2. During enrollment, upload the required Degree/Diploma certificate (as applicable) and a valid government-issued ID.
3. After successful registration, note the generated Enrolment Number / Apprenticeship Registration Number.
4. Ensure that the Enrolment Number is entered in the online application form while applying on the UMANG portal.
5. Visit the UMANG Portal and register/login: https://web.umang.gov.in/landing/.
6. Search for “URSC Apprenticeship” and select “Apply for position”.
7. Fill in all required details in the application form and verify that the Enrolment Number from NATS is entered correctly.
8. Upload documents in the specified formats (jpg/jpeg/png) and within the mentioned size limits:
   • B.E./B.Tech./Diploma Marks Certificate (all semesters/years) – Max 1 MB
   • B.E./B.Tech./Diploma Certificate / Provisional Certificate / Passing Certificate – Max 1 MB
   • Photograph – Max 50 KB
   • Signature – Max 50 KB
   • Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC) – Max 50 KB
   • Disability Certificate (for PwBD candidates)
9. Review the entered information and submit the application.
10. Download/print the final submitted application for future reference.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on merit and subsequent verification. In the first stage, candidates are shortlisted according to the percentage of marks obtained in the relevant educational qualification. Shortlisted candidates will then be called for Document Verification. After successful document verification, a panel is prepared based on academic scores. Induction of apprentices is done strictly according to their position in the panel, and selected candidates are informed by email only. The notification also states that candidates shortlisted for document verification are not eligible for Travelling Allowance (TA).

Candidates must produce original documents during document verification, including proof of date of birth, marks sheets, testimonials, and certificates. SC/ST/OBC candidates must submit a valid caste certificate in the prescribed Government of India format. EWS candidates must submit an income and assets certificate valid for the year 2025-2026. PwBD candidates (with 40% or more disability) must submit a valid disability certificate and a Unique Disability Identity Card.
