ISRO NRSC Recruitment 2026 for 48 Research Personnel Posts

The National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), an ISRO unit under the Department of Space, Government of India, has released the ISRO NRSC Recruitment 2026 notification. Educational Qualification

Candidates must meet the minimum aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI requirements as specified for the relevant degree level. For M.E./M.Tech, the minimum requirement is 60% aggregate or CGPA/CPI 6.5 on a 10-point scale. For M.Sc./M.Sc Tech, the requirement is 65% aggregate (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI 6.84. For B.E./B.Tech, the requirement is also 65% aggregate (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI 6.84. For B.Sc, the requirement is 60% marks or CGPA 6.5. The notification indicates that candidates with relevant engineering/science postgraduate or graduate qualifications are eligible, and the degree-wise minimums above must be satisfied.

Age Limit

The age limit is reckoned as on the last date of receipt of the online application, which is 2026-08-21, and it varies by post category. For Junior Research Fellow (JRF), the age limit is 28 years for UR/EWS, 31 years for OBC, and 33 years for SC/ST. For Research Scientist (M.Sc based), the age limit is 28 years for UR/EWS, 31 years for OBC, and 33 years for SC/ST. For Research Scientist (M.Tech based), the age limit is 30 years for UR/EWS, 33 years for OBC, and 35 years for SC/ST. For Project Associate-I, Project Associate-II, Project Scientist-I, and Project Scientist-B, the age limit is 35 years for UR/EWS, 38 years for OBC, and 40 years for SC/ST. Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are eligible for upper age relaxation as per Government of India orders, provided they produce the relevant certificates.

Application Fee

The application fee is to be paid online only through the Bharatkosh payment gateway. The notification also states that the last date for submission of the application is the last date for payment of fees. No other payment mode such as cash, cheque, demand draft, money order, or IPO is accepted.

Selection Process

The recruitment selection process consists of two stages: screening/shortlisting and an interview. Meeting the minimum prescribed qualification does not automatically guarantee an interview call. NRSC may screen applications and may apply additional criteria to shortlist candidates. After shortlisting, only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview by the Selection Committee. Interview call letters are sent only via email to shortlisted candidates, and no communication is made to candidates who are not shortlisted. The notification also clarifies that there is no written examination for this recruitment; selection is based on application screening followed by an interview.
