IIT Mandi Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has released the Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 notification for 08 vacancies. The recruitment is for roles including Junior Technical Superintendent (multiple specializations) and Staff Nurse. Eligible candidates can apply online through the institute’s recruitment portal within the notified dates.

This recruitment (Advt. No. IIT Mandi/Recruit./NTS/2026/04) will be conducted through a multi-stage selection process comprising a Written Test/Trade Test (as applicable) followed by Document Verification, and then a Medical Examination. The posts are located at IIT Mandi, Kamand, Himachal Pradesh, and the selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-06 as per the 7th Pay Commission.

Educational Qualification

Junior Technical Superintendent – Centre for Quantum Science & Technologies (Post Code: 001)

Essential: Candidates must have one of the following:

• First class Bachelor’s/ Bachelor’s (Honours) Degree in Physics/ Electronics (or equivalent grade) from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 5 years of experience; or
• First class Diploma in Electronics with excellent academic record with minimum 5 years’ experience; or
• Post-graduate Degree in Physics/Electronics with 2 years’ experience; or
• B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Engineering Physics, Instrumentation from a recognized University or Institute with 1 year experience.

Desirable: Understanding of Instrumentation, Electronics and Physics, especially Quantum Mechanics.

Junior Technical Superintendent – Indian Knowledge system and Mental Health Applications (Post Code: 002)

Essential: Candidates must have one of the following:

• First class Bachelor’s/ Bachelor’s (Honours) Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (or equivalent grade) from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 5 years of experience; or
• Post-graduate Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from a recognized University/Institute with 2 years’ experience.

Desirable: Clinical experience in Manovijñāna evaṃ Manasa Roga, Kāyacikitsā, Svasthavṛtta and Yoga, or Pañcakarma; experience in Ayurvedic management of anxiety, depressive, sleep, and stress-related disorders; familiarity with Indian Knowledge Systems frameworks relevant to mental health; and a background in biomedical engineering and instrumentation.

Junior Technical Superintendent – Digital & Computing Services (Software Development & Automation) (Post Code: 003)

Essential: Candidates must have one of the following:

• First class Bachelor’s/ Bachelor’s (Honours) Degree in CS/IT (or equivalent grade) from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 5 years of experience; or
• First class Diploma in CSE/IT with excellent academic record with minimum 5 years’ experience; or
• Post-graduate Degree in CS/IT with 2 years’ experience; or
• B.E./B.Tech. in CSE/IT or MCA from a recognized University or Institute with 1 year experience.

Desirable: Hands-on experience in software development using technologies such as Python-Django, JavaScript, React, Node.js, and Laravel; basic understanding of RDBMS/NoSQL databases; and experience in software implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance.

Junior Technical Superintendent – Digital & Computing Services (Network & system Administration) (Post Code: 004)

Essential: Candidates must have one of the following:

• First class Bachelor’s/ Bachelor’s (Honours) Degree in CS/IT/Electronics (or equivalent grade) from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 5 years of experience; or
• First class Diploma in CSE/IT/ECE with excellent academic record with minimum 5 years’ experience; or
• Post-graduate Degree in CS/IT/Electronics with 2 years’ experience; or
• B.E./B.Tech. in CSE/IT/ECE or MCA from a recognized University or Institute with 1 year experience.

Desirable: Hands-on experience in system and network administration; basic understanding of LAN/WAN networking, network security, user management, backup and recovery, and virtualization; and experience in monitoring and supporting IT infrastructure.

Staff Nurse (Post Code: 005)

Essential:

• Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent with 3 years diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery; and
• Registration with Nursing Council; and
• 1 year experience in a hospital recognized by the Central or State Nursing Council.

Desirable: Work experience in a minimum 20-bedded hospital with exposure in the emergency department and critical care, including hands-on experience to handle life-threatening emergencies.

Age Limit

For all advertised posts, the candidate’s age must be a maximum of 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules.

The fee is non-refundable once paid. The notification indicates that SC, ST, Women, PwD and ESM candidates are exempted from the application fee but must pay the processing fee.

4. Complete registration by entering basic details such as name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.
5. After registration, log in using the generated registration ID and password.
6. Fill the application form with personal details, educational qualifications, category, and other required information.
7. Upload scanned copies of required documents, including certificates supporting essential qualifications and experience, pay drawn details (where applicable), proof of Date of Birth, disability certificate (if applicable), caste certificate, latest OBC (non-creamy layer) certificate (if applicable), and other documents as instructed.
8. Upload your recent photograph and scanned signature as per the specifications mentioned in the portal instructions.
9. Pay the application fee online using debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
10. Review all entries and submit the application form.
11. Download and print a copy of the submitted application for future reference.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be paid as per the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix. All advertised posts are under Pay Level-06.

Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted in multiple stages. Candidates must qualify in each stage to be considered for final selection. The stages mentioned in the notification are: (1) Written Test/Trade Test (as applicable), (2) Document Verification, and (3) Medical Examination. The institute also reserves the right to conduct or not conduct the written/trade test and to shortlist candidates based on higher criteria than the minimum eligibility.
