Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants must be Indian Nationals and meet the education and experience requirements for the particular post. The notification specifies the following criteria:

Assistant Registrar: A Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade of ‘B’ on the UGC seven-point scale, from a recognised university or institute. Applicants must also have at least five years of experience in a supervisory-level position at Level 6 or above, including at least three years in a Centrally Funded Technical Institute.

Counselor: An M.A. in Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, each with at least 55% marks, from a recognised university or institute. The experience requirement is five years in counselling, including one year of clinical experience in a mental health centre and three years as a regular, full-time Counselor, preferably at an educational or counselling centre.

Medical Officer: Applicants must meet one of these routes: an M.D. or M.S. in an appropriate branch of Medicine; an M.B.B.S. with a postgraduate diploma in an appropriate branch of Medicine and at least two years’ experience in a recognised hospital; or an M.B.B.S., including completion of the compulsory rotatory internship, followed by at least four years’ experience in a recognised hospital.

Assistant Manager (ICT) – System Administration and Assistant Manager (ICT) – Networking: For either post, applicants need an M.Tech., M.E. or Master’s degree in an appropriate field with at least 55% marks and two years of relevant experience; alternatively, a B.Tech. or B.E. in an appropriate field with at least 60% marks and five years of relevant experience.

Web Programmer: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application or an equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks, together with at least three years’ experience in web design and website maintenance.

Junior Superintendent: Either a Master’s degree in any discipline with 55% marks and three years of relevant experience in a Central or State Government organisation, autonomous body or PSU, or a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 55% marks and five years of relevant experience in those sectors. Computer literacy is also required.

Junior Technical Superintendent (Computer Science & Engineering): A Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Applications with 55% marks and three years of relevant experience; alternatively, a B.Tech. or equivalent in CSE or IT with 55% marks and four years of relevant experience.

Senior Assistant: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 55% marks and three years of relevant experience in a Central or State Government organisation, autonomous body or PSU. Computer literacy is required.

Junior Technical Assistant (Computer Science & Engineering): Either a B.Tech., B.E., B.Sc. or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications or IT with 50% marks, or a three-year Diploma in Engineering or Applied Science in one of those fields with at least 55% marks and at least one year of IT administration experience. Computer literacy is required.

Age Limit

The post-wise upper age limits are 45 years for Assistant Registrar and Medical Officer; 40 years for Counselor; 35 years for both Assistant Manager (ICT) positions, Web Programmer, Junior Superintendent and Junior Technical Superintendent; 30 years for Senior Assistant; and 27 years for Junior Technical Assistant.

Age relaxation is available as stated in the notification: up to five years for SC and ST candidates, up to three years for OBC-NCL candidates, and up to 50 years for regular employees working at IIT Jodhpur or other IITs. Ex-servicemen receive relaxation under Government of India norms. PwBD relaxation is 10 years for General candidates, 13 years for OBC-NCL candidates and 15 years for SC/ST candidates.
