Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

The eligibility requirements for Technical Officer (Scale-I) vary by department/centre. For CSIF, the Department of Physics, and the Sustainability Office, candidates must have one of the following: (1) B.Tech./B.E./M.Sc. in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks and 6 years of relevant experience, where 3 years at Level 7 or 1 year at Level 8 can be counted toward the experience; or (2) M.Tech./M.E. with a minimum of 55% marks and 4 years of relevant experience. For PhD holders, up to 3 years of PhD duration can be counted as experience.

For the Application Software Centre (Full-Stack Developer), candidates must have either B.Tech./B.E. in any discipline, or MCA, or M.Sc. in IT/Computer Science with a minimum of 55% marks. In addition, they must have 6 years of relevant experience, with the same experience equivalence of 3 years at Level 7 or 1 year at Level 8. The essential experience requirements for this role include 4 years in Object-Oriented backend/frontend frameworks, 4 years with databases (MySQL/Postgres), proficiency in JSON RPC/SOAP/REST API, and 4 years in a Linux command line environment.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 40 years as on the application closing date, i.e., 04 September 2026. Age relaxation is applicable as per Institute norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen and Institute employees.
