Selection Process

The selection process for CRP PO/MT-XVI includes five stages. First, candidates appear for the Online Preliminary Examination, which is an objective test and is qualifying in nature. Second, the Online Main Examination is conducted with objective plus descriptive components; marks obtained in this stage count toward final merit. Third, a Personality Test is conducted in a self-report format; it is mandatory for interview eligibility and is non-qualifying, and the results are shared with the interview panel. Fourth, an Interview is conducted by the Participating Banks, coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/UT. Fifth, Provisional Allotment is made based on merit-cum-preference and the actual vacancies reported by banks.

Final merit is based on Main Exam and Interview marks in an 80:20 weightage ratio. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview are 40% for general category candidates, and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.

Eligible candidates should download their admit card from the official IBPS website and ensure they are prepared for the preliminary examination schedule announced for August/September 2026. Keep your printout handy and follow the instructions on the call letter before the examination date.
