IBPS Hindi Officer Recruitment 2026

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has opened applications for direct recruitment to one regular Hindi Officer post in Grade E. Candidates with the specified postgraduate qualifications, age eligibility and computer skills can apply for the position based at IBPS, Mumbai.

There is one vacancy, and online registration runs from 23 September to 6 October 2026; applications through any other mode will not be accepted. Selection is scheduled for October 2026 and comprises application scrutiny, an online examination, a skill test and item-writing exercise, group exercises, and a personal interview. IBPS will also maintain a need-based wait list for six months.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must hold a master's degree from a recognised university and meet one of these subject combinations: a master's degree in Hindi with English as a major or elective subject at graduation; a master's degree in English with Hindi as a major or elective subject at graduation; a master's degree in a subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi as a major or elective subject and English as the medium of examination at degree level; or a master's degree in a subject other than Hindi or English with English as a major or elective subject and Hindi as the medium of examination at degree level.

Degrees obtained through correspondence, distance education or an open university system are not accepted. Qualifications must be from a university, institution or board recognised by the Government of India or approved by government regulatory bodies, and the result must have been declared by the last date for online applications. The notification also requires computer proficiency, particularly in MS Office, and the ability to prepare translated documents in Hindi and English using MS Word and Excel. One year of English-to-Hindi and Hindi-to-English translation work involving reports, documents or letters in a bank or financial institution is desirable; experience with AI-based translation tools is an added qualification. The candidate's integrity must not have been in doubt during their service or career, no service or career punishment or penalty should have been imposed, and no case by the CBI or another law-enforcement agency should be pending against them.

Age Limit

The age requirement is 23 to 30 years as on 1 September 2026. The permitted date-of-birth range is 2 September 1996 to 1 September 2003, both dates inclusive. The notification specifies no age relaxation. IBPS will determine age using the date of birth recorded in the candidate's matriculation, secondary examination or equivalent certificate available when the application is submitted.

Application Fee

The fee is payable from 23 September through 6 October 2026, inclusive. Payment options listed by IBPS include RuPay, Visa, MasterCard and Maestro debit cards, credit cards, internet banking, IMPS, cash cards, mobile wallets and UPI.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official IBPS website at www.ibps.in and select “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE”.
2. Choose “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” and enter the basic information requested to register.
3. Save the provisional registration number and password generated by the system.
4. Upload the required photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, brief resume in PDF, SSC/SSLC/10th standard or equivalent certificate, and documents supporting identity and eligibility.
5. Capture and upload a photograph using a webcam or mobile phone during registration.
6. Review the entries carefully, using “SAVE AND NEXT” to correct details before final submission.
7. Pay the INR 1000 application fee online. Any bank transaction charges must also be borne by the candidate.
8. After checking all information, select “COMPLETE REGISTRATION”.
9. Download or print the e-receipt and completed online application form for future reference.
10. Keep a valid personal email address and mobile number active throughout the recruitment process. IBPS advises candidates to apply early rather than wait until the deadline, when website or internet congestion may prevent access.

Salary & Pay Scale

The stated annual cost to company includes benefits such as the employer's provident fund contribution, medical and mediclaim benefits, telephone and newspaper reimbursements, canteen subsidy, performance-linked incentive, gratuity and superannuation. Other benefits may include LTC/HTC, children's education subsidy, housing-loan interest subsidy, house-rent reimbursement, group personal accident insurance, a house-furnishing loan, conveyance and computer loans, and incentives for higher studies. These are governed by IBPS rules and policies in force at appointment.

At joining, the selected candidate must execute a service bond of INR 200000 and serve IBPS for at least three years from the joining date. Otherwise, the candidate must pay INR 200000 to IBPS under the bond. The service period may be extended by the number of loss-of-pay days.

Selection Process

IBPS will first scrutinise applications against the minimum eligibility criteria in the advertisement. Candidates shortlisted at the application-scrutiny stage and in the online examination may be called for the remaining selection stages, conducted at IBPS, Mumbai. These include a skill test and item-writing exercise, group exercises and a personal interview. Final selection is based on performance across the entire selection process.

The online examination has four objective tests: Reasoning (50 questions, 25 marks, 35 minutes, in English); English Language (50 questions, 50 marks, 35 minutes, in English); General Awareness (50 questions, 50 marks, 20 minutes, in English); and Hindi Language (50 questions, 75 marks, 50 minutes, in Hindi). The examination totals 200 questions and 200 marks over 140 minutes. A wrong answer attracts a deduction of one-fourth, or 0.25, of the marks assigned to that question; unanswered questions carry no penalty.
