Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants must have passed the 10th Standard (SSLC) or an equivalent examination and be able to read and write Kannada. The notification accepts SSLC or equivalent certificates issued for CBSE and ICSE Class 10 examinations, Class 10 examinations conducted by other State Government Boards, NIOS secondary-level courses, and Karnataka Open School (KOS) secondary-level courses. Marks cards from boards not listed in the notification will not be accepted.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, and age is assessed on the last date for applications. Before the one-time relaxation, the maximum age is 35 years for General candidates, 38 years for Categories 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, and 40 years for SC, ST and Category-1 candidates. A further one-time five-year relaxation in the maximum age applies to candidates in all categories under Government Order No. ಸಿಆಸುಜ 262 ಸೇನೆನಿ 2025 dated 29 January 2026 and the High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru letter No. ಡಿಜಿಎ/400/2021 dated 24 February 2026. The relaxation applies to direct-recruitment notifications issued from the date of the Government Order through 31 December 2027. On that basis, the maximum ages are 40, 43 and 45 years respectively, subject to the notification’s conditions.

Selection Process

Initial shortlisting is based on the average marks obtained in the 10th Standard. Candidates are called for interview in a ratio of 1:10 for each post, based on those marks; the 10th Standard marks are used for interview shortlisting only. The interview carries 10 marks, and final selection is based on interview marks, subject to verification of original testimonials. The process is governed by the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977 and the Karnataka Subordinate Courts (Ministerial and Other Posts) (Recruitment) Rules, 2007 and 2021. The eligible-candidate list will be published on the court website; separate call letters will not be sent.
