Educational Qualification

Candidates must meet the post-wise educational requirements as specified in the notification. For Library Information Assistant, the required qualification is a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science. For Technical Assistant (Field/Lab Research), candidates should have completed 12th with Science with 60% marks. Stenographer Grade II requires 12th pass along with stenography. Technician (Field/Lab Research) requires ITI in the related field, while Store Keeper requires 12th pass.

For Technician (Maintenance), the required qualification is a Diploma in the related field. Lower Division Clerk (LDC) requires 12th pass along with typing. For Forest Guard, the requirement is 12th pass. Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) requires 10th pass.

Age Limit

The age limit is post-wise. For Library Information Assistant, Technical Assistant (Field/Lab Research), Technician (Field/Lab Research), Technician (Maintenance), and Multi Tasking Staff (MTS), the age limit is 18 to 30 years. For Stenographer Grade II, Store Keeper, Lower Division Clerk (LDC), and Forest Guard, the age limit is 18 to 27 years.

Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ESM categories.

Selection Process

The recruitment selection is conducted in three phases. Phase-I is a Computer Based Test (CBT). The CBT duration is 3 hours, and for dyslexic candidates or persons with writing disability, an additional 3 hours 60 minutes is mentioned. There is negative marking of 1/4 mark for each wrong answer. Qualifying marks are specified as 40 marks for General/OBC/EWS and 33 marks for SC/ST/PwBD, with the exact qualifying requirement varying by post.

Subject-wise sections and marks distribution vary by post, and the notification provides different subject combinations and marks for each role. Phase-II is a descriptive test of qualifying nature with a maximum of 50 marks and duration of 45 minutes. Candidates must secure qualifying marks of 50% (25 marks). The descriptive test includes one short essay (approximately 300 words) and one letter/application, with one in Hindi and one in English. This descriptive test is conducted in pen and paper mode only at Dehradun.

Phase-III is a skill/trade test of qualifying nature for select posts. Technician (Maintenance) includes a skill/trade test, and Junior Clerk includes a typing test. The final merit list is prepared based on CBT marks only, with tie-breaking rules, for candidates who qualify in the descriptive test and the skill/trade test wherever applicable.
