DGQA Technician Recruitment 2026

The Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA), Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, has released a recruitment notification for Technician (Skilled) and Technician (Semi Skilled) posts under Group ‘C’, Non-Ministerial, Industrial categories. A total of 14 vacancies have been announced. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Technician (Skilled): Candidates must have Matriculation (10th class pass) or equivalent. They must also possess an ITI Pass Certificate in the specified trade or an equivalent Defence Services Tradesman Course approved by the Central/State Government. Additionally, candidates must have one year of experience in the specified trade from a recognized organization.

Technician (Semi Skilled): Candidates must have an ITI pass in any trade, or an equivalent Defence Services Tradesman course approved by the Central/State Government.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years of age as on the application closing date.

How to Apply

1. Download the DGQA Technician Recruitment 2026 notification and take a printout of the application format (Appendix ‘A’) and the relevant admit card format: Appendix ‘B’ for Technician (Semi Skilled) or Appendix ‘C’ for Technician (Skilled).
2. Fill the application in Block Letters on A4 size paper in English.
3. Affix a recent self-attested passport-size photograph on the application form and on both admit card copies.
4. Attach self-attested copies of required documents, including educational/technical qualification and experience certificates, date of birth certificate, and caste certificate (if applicable).
5. Enclose one self-addressed envelope of size 30 cm x 12 cm affixed with a postal stamp of 55 (as mentioned in the notification).
6. Attach a self-attested copy of the Aadhaar Card.
7. Superscribe the envelope clearly as: “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF [Technician (Semi Skilled)/Technician (Skilled)] AND CATEGORY [SC/ST/OBC/UR]”.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed on 2-year probation and will receive pay as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, along with admissible allowances such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance, transport allowance, children education allowance, leave travel concession, medical facilities, CSD facilities, and other allowances as per extant government rules. Recruited candidates will be covered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS)/Unified Pension Scheme (UPS).

Selection Process

The DGQA Technician selection process includes two stages and does not involve an interview. First, candidates will appear for a written test consisting of objective MCQs. After the written test, shortlisted candidates will be called for a trade test. The trade test carries 100 marks, and candidates must score a minimum of 40 marks to qualify.

The written test is of 90 minutes duration and carries 100 marks, with four sections of 25 marks each: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language and Comprehension, and Numerical Aptitude. Parts (i), (ii), and (iv) are set in English and Hindi, while Part (iii) is in English only. Shortlisting for the trade test is based on written test marks and category reservation.
