The CSIR-Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (CSIR-TKDL) Unit is recruiting 50 project staff for its traditional-knowledge information systems project under Advertisement No. TKDL/08/2026. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Applicants need a qualification matching the post code. Unless stated otherwise, degrees must be from a recognized university or equivalent.
Senior Project Associate – Information Technology (TKD3901): Applicants may have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in Computer Science or Information Technology; an MCA with three years of R&D experience in an industrial or academic institution, or a Science and Technology organisation; or an ME/M.Tech in Engineering or Technology in Computer Science or Information Technology with two years of R&D experience. The stated technical experience includes Core Java and advanced Java, J2EE, SQL queries, MVC architecture using Spring and Hibernate, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, AngularJS, Bootstrap, jQuery, JDBC and RESTful services. Exposure to JBoss and Tomcat, familiarity with NetBeans or Eclipse, SQL procedures, functions, cursors, triggers and packages, and knowledge of Git are specified. Data-science application knowledge is an advantage. Alternatively, proficiency in engineering, administering and managing relational database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL, including database migration, is listed.
Project Associate-I – IT-Data Science (TKC3901 and TKH3901): Applicants need a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science or Electronics, or an MCA. Desirable abilities include one or more of Core Java, J2EE or EJB; strong Python and SQL skills; machine learning, data analysis and visualisation; statistical modelling and predictive analytics; familiarity with cloud platforms and big-data technologies; and good communication and problem-solving skills.
Project Associate-I – Information Technology (TKJ3901, TKL3901, TKS3901 and TKP3901): The required qualification is a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in Computer Science or Information Technology, or an MCA. Desirable software experience includes Core Java, J2EE, EJB, Enterprise Java, Spring, JasperReports, Struts, Hibernate, Maven, REST, SOAP and an IDE such as Eclipse, NetBeans or IntelliJ IDEA. Alternatively, applicants may have working knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL, or proficiency installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting RHEL 7 or later, Nginx and Apache Tomcat. The notice also identifies RHEL upgrades, performance tuning, licensing, patching, vulnerability remediation, Java-based web servers, server hardening and backups as relevant knowledge.
Senior Project Associate – Ayurveda (TKD3902): A BAMS degree with three years of R&D experience or an MD in Ayurveda with two years of R&D experience is required. Proficiency in Sanskrit or Malayalam is preferred.
Project Associate-I – Ayurveda (TKD3903 and TKJ3902): Applicants need a BAMS degree.

Senior Project Associate – Siddha (TKC3902): Applicants need a BSMS degree with three years of R&D experience, or an MD in Siddha with two years of R&D experience.

Senior Project Associate – Patent (TKD3904 and TKH3903): Applicants need a Master’s degree in Chemical or Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics or Cheminformatics with three years of R&D experience, or a doctoral degree in Chemical or Biological Science with two years of R&D experience. Patent analytics or informatics experience, a postgraduate diploma in IPR, and strong written and spoken English are desirable.
Project Associate-I – Patent (TKD3905 and TKH3904): A Master’s degree in Chemical or Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics or Cheminformatics is required. Patent analytics or informatics proficiency, a postgraduate diploma in IPR, and good written and oral English are desirable.
Senior Project Associate – Sanskrit (TKD3906): Applicants need a Master’s degree in Sanskrit with three years of R&D experience, or a doctoral degree in Sanskrit with two years of R&D experience. Knowledge of traditional medical texts and medical terminology, including disease and plant names, is desirable.
Project Associate-I – Yoga (TKD3907): A Master’s degree in Yoga is required.
Age Limit
