Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must meet the minimum educational qualification for their respective category. For Engineering Graduate (BE/B.Tech), the requirement is a regular full-time degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant area from a recognized/approved university or institution, completed within the last five years. For Diploma Engineering, candidates must have a regular full-time three-year diploma in Engineering/Technology in the relevant area from a recognized/approved university or institution, also completed within the last five years. For Non-Engineering Graduate (BA/BSc/BCom/BCA), candidates must have passed graduation from any government-recognized board or university and must have completed graduation within the last five years. For ITI candidates, the requirement is passing ITI in the relevant trade from any government-recognized board or university.

How to Apply

  1. Register on the appropriate government apprenticeship portal: NATS 2.0 Portal for Engineering/Diploma/Non-Engineering Graduates or NAPS Portal for ITI candidates, and ensure you meet the eligibility criteria.
  2. Download and fill the application form (Annexure-I) provided with the notification.
  3. Affix a recent passport-size colour photograph on the application form.
  4. Send a confirmation email about your participation to recruitment.immt@csir.res.in by 11:00 AM on 17 August 2026.
  5. Report at S.S. Bhatnagar Hall, CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar between 9:30 AM and 10:15 AM on 18 August 2026. Entry will not be allowed after the reporting time.
  6. Carry the duly filled application form along with original documents and self-attested photocopies of: 10th mark sheet and certificate, +2/Degree/Diploma/ITI mark sheet and certificate, Aadhaar Card, Caste/Disability Certificate (if applicable), and Bank Passbook.
  7. Submit the application form and attend document verification and the walk-in interview on the same day.

Salary & Pay Scale

The stipend for Apprentice Trainees ranges from 9600 to 12300 per month, depending on the category. The notification also states that for Graduate and Diploma categories, 50% of the stipend is paid by the establishment and 50% by the Government.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the walk-in interview and document verification. After selection, an engagement letter will be sent through email. Selected candidates must submit their acceptance within 3 days of receiving the engagement letter and must join within 7 days after receipt of the engagement letter. If acceptance is not submitted or joining is not completed within the stipulated time, the selection will be treated as cancelled and no further correspondence will be entertained.

Eligible candidates should complete their portal registration, send the confirmation email by 17 August 2026 (11:00 AM), and attend the walk-in interview with documents at CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar on 18 August 2026 before the reporting time ends.
