CRPF Sports Quota Recruitment 2026

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has issued Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 notification R.II-21/2026-Sports for Head Constable (GD) and Constable (GD). It invites online applications from eligible male and female sportspersons who are ordinarily resident in India and meet the prescribed sporting achievement requirements.

There are 521 vacancies in total, and applications are accepted online from 12 October 2026 at 09:00 hours until 11 November 2026 at 23:59 hours. The process includes document checks, a Physical Standard Test, a sports trial and medical examination; the merit list is based on marks for sports certificates and achievements.

The 521 openings are divided between Head Constable (General Duty) and Constable (General Duty) posts. The notification provides separate male and female vacancy counts for each post.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants for Head Constable (GD) must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a board or university recognised by the Central or State Government. For former Army personnel, an equivalent Army qualification is accepted. Applicants for Constable (GD) must have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. The required education must have been obtained by 11 November 2026; candidates awaiting results or without the required certificate by that date are not eligible.

Applicants must also meet the post-specific sports criteria. For Head Constable (GD), eligible achievements include representing India in a recognised international competition with clearance from the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports; representing a State or Union Territory in a National Games or championship organised by a recognised National Sports Federation and earning a medal or placing up to third, or doing so at the National Games organised by the Indian Olympic Association; finishing first or second in an individual Inter-University event, or reaching the final in a team event conducted by the Association of Indian Universities or Inter-University Sports Board; or winning gold or silver in an individual or team event at a junior national competition organised by a recognised federation.

For Constable (GD), qualifying sports credentials include representing a State in senior or junior national-level games or championships organised by a recognised National Sports Federation; representing a State Schools Team in National Sports or Games for Schools conducted by the All-India School Games Federation of India and earning a medal or placing up to third; representing a State or Union Territory in Khelo India University Games, Khelo India Youth Games or Khelo India Winter Games conducted with authorisation of the Department of Sports and earning a medal or placing up to third; or representing a university in an Inter-University tournament conducted by the Inter-University Sports Boards.

Sports achievements or certificates must be from the two years preceding publication of the recruitment advertisement. Candidates must meet every eligibility condition and possess the relevant certificates by the application closing date. Those awaiting examination results or missing the required education or sports documents should not apply.

Age Limit

For both posts, the stated age range is 18 to 23 years as on 1 August 2026. Under the stated birth-date limits, candidates must not have been born before 2 August 2003 or after 1 August 2008. The notification lists age relaxation of five years for Unreserved candidates, eight years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and ten years for SC/ST candidates. For ex-servicemen, the listed relaxation is eight years for UR, eleven years for OBC and thirteen years for SC/ST, after deduction of military service rendered from actual age.

The physical standards stated are a minimum height of 170 cm for male candidates and 157 cm for female candidates. Male candidates must have a chest measurement of 80 cm unexpanded with at least 5 cm expansion; no female chest measurement is specified. The notification says height and chest relaxations for categories and regions including ST, North-Eastern States, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras and Marathas are available under its prescribed rules.

Application Fee

The application fee is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against another recruitment process. It must be paid through the CRPF recruitment website where applicable.

How to Apply

1. Make sure you have an active personal email address and mobile number. CRPF will use email and SMS for correspondence, and candidates should keep their email account active through the selection process.
2. Visit the official CRPF recruitment portal at https://rect.crpf.gov.in/ and read the application instructions and notification before beginning.
3. Create or access your profile and enter the required personal, educational and other application details accurately.
4. Upload in your profile the certificate or document for the relevant sports discipline that supports your highest medal or position, or your highest level of participation.
5. Pay the 100 application fee if it applies to your category. Candidates eligible for an exemption do not need to pay.
6. Review and submit the online application before 11 November 2026 at 23:59 hours. CRPF will not accept applications offline.

Salary & Pay Scale

The pay is set under the applicable pay matrix. Head Constable (GD) is in Level 4, with a pay range of 25500 to 81100 per month. Constable (GD) is in Level 3, with a pay range of 21700 to 69100 per month.

Selection Process

Selection begins with identity and document verification. Candidates must present original documents relating to age, education, caste, sports achievements and any claim for age or height relaxation. Those who proceed will undergo a Physical Standard Test against the standards in the notification, followed by a sports trial conducted by a Board of Officers. A candidate who fails the sports trial will not be considered for recruitment. Medical assessment includes a Detailed Medical Examination under Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines; candidates declared unfit at that stage may undergo a Review Medical Examination. CRPF will draw the merit list from the total marks awarded for sports certificates and achievements.
