Chamarajanagar District Court Recruitment 2026

The Office of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Chamarajanagar has released a recruitment notification for multiple posts in the subordinate courts of the Chamarajanagar Judicial District. Eligible candidates can apply online for positions including Stenographer Grade-III, Typist, Typist-Copyist, and Peon. Educational Qualification

Stenographer Grade-III (02 posts): Candidates must have passed II PUC or an equivalent 3-year Diploma along with Senior Grade Kannada & English Shorthand and Typing, as per the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB). Alternatively, candidates with a Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with equivalent shorthand/typing are eligible.

Typist (06 posts): Candidates must have passed II PUC or an equivalent 3-year Diploma along with Senior Grade Kannada & English Typing from KSEEB. Alternatively, candidates with a Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with equivalent typing are eligible.

Typist-Copyist (04 posts): Candidates must have passed II PUC or an equivalent 3-year Diploma along with Junior Grade Kannada & English Typing from KSEEB. Alternatively, candidates with a Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with equivalent typing are eligible.

Peon (13 posts): Candidates must have passed SSLC or an equivalent examination conducted by KSEEB. They must also be able to read and write Kannada.

Age Limit

The notification provides a maximum age limit with a one-time relaxation of 5 years for all categories. The base maximum ages are: 35 years for General category, 38 years for Cat 2A/2B/3A/3B, and 40 years for SC/ST/Category-I. With the one-time relaxation, the effective maximum ages are 40 years (General), 43 years (Cat 2A/2B/3A/3B), and 45 years (SC/ST/Category-I). This 5-year relaxation is stated as valid until 31-12-2027 as per Government Order No. CAUE 262 SENI 2025 dated 29-01-2026.

Additional age relaxation is applicable for Government employees, Ex-Servicemen, widows, Persons with Benchmark Disability, and other categories as per the applicable rules.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed on probation for 2 years as per Karnataka Service Rules (Probation Rules) 1977. During probation, candidates must pass departmental exams, Kannada language exams, and computer literacy tests.

Selection Process

The selection process includes a skill test/written test (as applicable to the post), followed by an interview and document verification. For Stenographer Grade-III, the skill test includes dictation at 120 wpm for 5 minutes and transcription in 45 minutes on the computer, along with an interview carrying 5 marks. For Typist and Typist-Copyist, the skill test is a typing test of 15 minutes, followed by an interview carrying 5 marks. For Peon, selection is based on SSLC merit with a 1:10 ratio for calling candidates for interview, then a Kannada reading/writing and General Knowledge test of 10 marks and an interview of 10 marks.
