BPCL Non-Management Recruitment 2026 (154 Technician/Operator Posts)

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has released the BPCL Non-Management Recruitment 2026 notification on 2026-07-29 at the official website of BPCL. This recruitment is for entry-level non-management posts at the Mumbai Refinery and Kochi Refinery. Candidates who meet the diploma and experience requirements can apply online within the given dates.

A total of 154 vacancies have been announced for Process Technician, Process Operator/Operator, Technician/Operator, and Technician posts across Chemical, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines. The online registration begins on 2026-07-29 (12:00 AM) and remains open until 2026-08-13 (11:59 PM). Applications must be submitted online, and selection will be carried out in three stages: a Computer Based Test (CBT), a Skill/Proficiency Test (SPT) of qualifying nature, and a Pre-Employment Medical Examination.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must be Indian nationals and must possess a Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline obtained through a full-time regular course approved by AICTE. In addition to the diploma, candidates must have the prescribed minimum post-qualification experience or apprenticeship training as specified for each post code. Candidates with higher qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech/A.M.I.E. are not eligible. Diplomas obtained through part-time, correspondence, or distance learning modes are also not eligible.

The eligibility by post code is as follows: for Post Codes A and B, a Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology is required along with minimum one year of relevant post-qualification work experience or apprenticeship training. For Post Code C, a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required along with minimum one year of relevant post-qualification work experience or apprenticeship training. For Post Code D, a Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Electrical Power System/Electrical Engineering (Industrial Control) is required along with minimum one year of relevant post-qualification work experience or apprenticeship training.

For calculating the minimum post-qualification experience, the date of reckoning is 2026-07-01.

Age Limit

The age limit is considered as on 2026-07-01. For General (including EWS) candidates, the minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 25 years. OBC (NCL) candidates get relaxation of 3 years in the maximum age limit. SC/ST candidates get relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit. PwBD candidates get relaxation of 10 years in the maximum age limit, with additional category-wise limits mentioned as up to 15 years for SC/ST PwBD and up to 13 years for OBC (NCL) PwBD. Ex-Servicemen candidates are eligible for age relaxation by deducting the actual period of military service from the actual age. The total cumulative age relaxation is capped at 15 years.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in the entry level of the NG-2 grade. The starting minimum basic pay is 26500 in the pay scale of 26500 to 34000 per month. In addition to basic pay, candidates will receive Dearness Allowance and other allowances/benefits as per BPCL rules.

Selection Process

Selection for these non-management posts will be conducted in three stages. Stage 1 is a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of 100 objective-type questions of 1 mark each, to be completed in 120 minutes. The CBT has two sections: Domain Knowledge (60 marks) and General Aptitude (40 marks) covering English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness & Current Affairs. There is no negative marking. Stage 2 is a Skill/Proficiency Test (SPT) held at the respective refinery locations for candidates who qualify the CBT as per the cut-off decided by the Corporation; the SPT is qualifying in nature only. Stage 3 is a Pre-Employment Medical Examination, and final appointment depends on meeting BPCL’s medical fitness norms and standards.
