BMC Group D Recruitment 2026 (115 Vacancies) – Offline Apply

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced the BMC Group D Recruitment 2026 for Class IV/Group D roles at Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Medical College and Dr. Rustom Narsee Cooper Hospital, Juhu. The recruitment is for purely temporary, contract-based engagement. Candidates who meet the educational and other post-specific eligibility conditions can apply through the offline process within the notified dates.

This recruitment is being conducted with approval of the Municipal Commissioner (Sanction No. MGC/F/7925 dated 01.10.2025) to fill Group D posts at Cooper Hospital on a temporary contractual basis up to 31 March 2027. A total of 115 vacancies are available across multiple categories. Offline applications begin on 22 July 2026 and must be submitted by 30 July 2026 (11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays). Selection will be made through a merit list prepared from the candidate’s prescribed educational qualification and marks obtained in a personal interview, followed by a selection list drawn from the merit list.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Eligibility requirements vary by post, but the notification indicates that most positions require candidates to have passed the 10th standard/SSC examination. Candidates must also be able to read, write and speak Marathi. For technical posts such as Electrician, Tartantri, Lift Operator and related roles (noted as Sr. No. 3 to 8 in the notification), candidates must additionally have a Wireman’s licence from the Maharashtra Public Works Department or an ITI/NCVT certificate in the Electrician/Wireman trade. These candidates must also pass a Marathi language paper (100 marks, SSC-level or equivalent) as per Maharashtra State Board norms and clear the trade/business test conducted by the department.

For posts including Cleaner, Ward Attendant, Ward Servant, Ayah, Gardener, Porter, Worker, Ambulance/Hearse Attendant, Barber, Wound Dresser and Assistant (noted as Sr. No. 9 to 23), candidates must have passed 10th/SSC and must pass the Marathi language paper (100 marks, SSC-level or equivalent). Where applicable, candidates must also clear the department’s trade/business test.

For the Tailor (Shipai) post, candidates must have passed 10th/SSC and possess either a one-year tailoring/cutting training certificate from a recognised government institution or a minimum 20-week Advanced Tailoring Course from Shramik Vidyapeeth, completed satisfactorily. Tailor applicants must also pass the Marathi language paper (100 marks) and the department’s trade test.

The notification also states that candidates must possess a valid, regularly used email ID while applying.

Age Limit

As on 01.07.2026, the candidate’s age must not be less than 18 years and must not be more than 38 years. The notification does not mention any specific age relaxation details.

Application Fee

How to Apply

1. Pay the application fee of 1028 at the Cashier Department, Room No. 65, 1st Floor, D-Wing, Dr. Rustom Narsee Cooper Hospital. Payment is available between 22.07.2026 and 30.07.2026 (11:00 AM to 3:00 PM), excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
2. Collect the fee payment receipt and make a photocopy of the receipt.
3. Fill the application form completely and attach the photocopy of the fee receipt along with photocopies of all required educational and supporting documents.
4. Submit the completed application in person at the 1st Floor, D-Wing (Establishment Department) of the hospital during 22.07.2026 to 30.07.2026, up to 4:00 PM.
5. Ensure that applications are not sent by post and not submitted online, as such applications will not be considered.

Salary & Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration depending on the post. The notification provides consolidated pay ranging from 15000 to 18000 per month across categories. It also clarifies that no Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, or similar benefits will be admissible to contractual employees beyond the fixed consolidated remuneration.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on a merit list prepared using the candidate’s prescribed educational qualification and the marks obtained in a personal interview. After preparing the merit list, a selection list will be formed. The interview date will be displayed on the notice board of Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Medical College and Dr. R. N. Cooper Hospital and will be communicated by phone. Candidates must report to the interview venue at Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Medical College, Juhu at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time, carry original documents for verification, and attend at their own expense.
