Selection Process
For Typist and Typist-Copyist posts, the skill test is a 15-minute Kannada and English dictation exercise conducted on a computer using special software. Candidates must score at least 50 out of 100 in each language to qualify. Candidates are called for interview in a 1:5 ratio, based on their combined percentage of marks in the qualifying examination and skill test. The interview carries 5% of the maximum marks prescribed for the qualifying examination. The selection list is prepared from the combined percentage of marks in the qualifying examination, skill test and interview, and final selection is subject to verification of original documents. If candidates have equal marks, the older candidate ranks higher.
Those selected will serve a two-year probation and must pass the departmental examinations, Kannada language examination and computer literacy examination during that period. Candidates who try to influence the process may be disqualified, and false documents can result in cancellation of candidature and criminal proceedings. The recruitment authority’s decision is final under the applicable rules, and the recruitment is subject to the final order of the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka in Writ Petition No. 200448/2025 c/w 17968/2025 and 3145/2023. If reserved-category applications are insufficient, vacancies may be filled from other categories as per the rules.
Eligible candidates should review the relevant post notice, prepare the required documents and submit their online application by 6 November 2026 at 11:59 PM. Applications received after the deadline will be rejected.
