BEL Senior Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2026

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navaratna company under the Ministry of Defence, has invited applications for Senior Assistant Engineer posts in E-I Grade on a fixed-tenure basis. The recruitment is for eligible Indian Air Force ex-servicemen with the required diploma, service record and rank in the Electronics or Electrical discipline.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants must hold a three-year Diploma in Electronics Engineering or an equivalent qualification for the Electronics post, or a three-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification for the Electrical post. A pass class is sufficient. Candidates must also have completed 15 years of service in the Indian Air Force and have held the rank of Junior Commissioned Officer, specifically JWO or above. Their date of retirement from the IAF must be on or before 1 August 2026.

Applicants should have sound health; the notification states that no relaxation in health standards will be allowed. Candidates must have documents from previous and present employers showing their employment period and post held. Applicants who are still serving in the Armed Forces must provide documentary evidence of medical category, character and probable discharge date.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is calculated as of 1 August 2026: 50 years for General candidates, 53 years for OBC-NCL candidates and 55 years for SC/ST candidates. PwBD applicants may receive the relaxation applicable to their respective category under Government of India rules. Only candidates with a disability of at least 40% qualify for PwBD reservation and relaxation.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted offline using the prescribed form placed at Annexure-1. Send the completed application and supporting documents in a sealed cover to the Deputy General Manager (HR & Administration), Bharat Electronics Limited, Ghaziabad. Applications delivered by hand will not be accepted.

1. Download the prescribed application form from the BEL website and read the official advertisement to confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements.
2. Complete the form in CAPITAL LETTERS, provide a valid and active personal email address and contact number, and affix a recent colour passport-size photograph.
3. Attach self-attested copies of the relevant documents: SSLC marks card as age proof; diploma certificates and marks cards for all semesters or years; experience certificates, appointment letters or the latest salary slip, as applicable; PAN and Aadhaar copies; and the IAF discharge book or certificate showing medical category, discharge date and Exemplary/Very Good or equivalent record.
4. Where applicable, include the prescribed caste, tribe or community certificate, disability certificate, and a No Objection Certificate for candidates employed by a Government, quasi-Government or public-sector organisation. Serving Armed Forces applicants should also include the required evidence of medical category, character and probable discharge date.
5. Place the application and enclosures in a sealed cover marked “Application for the post of Sr. Asst. Engineer, E-I Grade/NCS SBU”.
6. Send it by Registered Post, Speed Post or courier to: Deputy General Manager (HR & Administration), Bharat Electronics Limited, Ghaziabad. Applications by hand are not accepted.
7. Ensure the application reaches BEL no later than 16 October 2026. Submit only one application and retain the relevant dispatch details.

Applicants must declare their category carefully, as a change to the General, SC, ST or OBC-NCL category after submission will not be entertained. Incomplete applications, applications not submitted in the prescribed format or applications missing required enclosures may be rejected without reasons. Candidates who have litigated with an employer in the past should briefly disclose this in the application.

Salary & Pay Scale

The E-I Grade pay scale is INR 30,000–1,20,000, with a 3% increment as specified in the scale. The remuneration package also includes Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, perquisites at 35% of annual basic pay, medical expense reimbursement, Group Insurance, Provident Fund, gratuity and PRP, subject to company rules.

The engagement is on a fixed-tenure basis. The notification describes a tenure of 15 years, renewable every five years or until superannuation at age 60, whichever is earlier, subject to individual performance and project requirements. Posting may be at project sites anywhere in India according to company requirements.

Selection Process

Selection consists of a written test followed by an interview. Candidates who qualify in the written test may be called for interview in a 1:7 ratio against the vacancies in the relevant category. Candidates must bring valid photo identity proof when appearing for the written test. Selection and candidature remain provisional and are subject to satisfactory antecedent verification. BEL states that it may change or cancel selection criteria, the selection method or the number of posts according to its actual requirements, and its decisions on eligibility and scrutiny are final and binding. Candidature may be rejected at any stage, including after joining, if information supplied does not meet the advertised criteria; canvassing will lead to disqualification.

Further recruitment announcements will be published on BEL’s website. Any dispute arising from the notification or recruitment process is subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts or Tribunals at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. If there is a difference between the English advertisement and another language version, the English version on BEL’s website will prevail.
