Horizontal Reservation (PwD): Out of the total 9 posts, 1 seat is reserved for Persons with Disability (PwD). Candidates belonging to PwD Category (B) (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) and PwD Category (C) (Locomotor Disability including Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims and Muscular Dystrophy) will be considered on an equal-priority basis. Selection among these PwD categories will be made strictly on the basis of merit.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the Hindi Translator post must possess one of the following educational qualifications:

  • M.A. in English and Honours in Hindi, or
  • M.A. in Hindi and Honours in English, or
  • Law Graduate and Hindi Honours, or
  • M.A. in Hindi and Honours in Hindi, or
  • M.A. in any subject and M.A. in Hindi, or
  • Honours in Hindi, or
  • M.A. in Hindi, or
  • B.A./B.Sc. and Honours in Hindi.

In addition, candidates must have at least 3 years of experience working as a Translator in any Government, semi-Government organisation, or any reputed daily newspaper.

The notification further states that candidates with knowledge of proof reading and an inclination for literary work will be given preference. Candidates are required to upload the requisite educational and experience certificates along with the application form.

Age Limit

Candidates must meet the age requirement as on 2026-07-01. The minimum age is 18 years. The maximum age for General category candidates is 37 years.

Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable for candidates of reserved categories as per Central Government instructions. The notification provides the following relaxation:

  • Scheduled Tribe (ST): 5 years
  • OBC: up to 3 years

Selection Process
