The notification also lists basic pay, dearness allowance, house rent allowance, medical benefits and other admissible allowances among the salary components, and refers to in-hand pay and promotion opportunities without specifying their amounts or terms.
| Post | Pay scale (INR) |

Selection Process
The recruitment uses an objective, degree-standard CBRT, followed by certificate verification and a CPT for candidates shortlisted on merit. The relevant district authorities verify original certificates and admit eligible candidates to the CPT; candidates who qualify in the CPT may be considered for appointment. The appointment of selected candidates is subject to being found medically fit in the appropriate medical classification.
The written CBRT has two papers: Paper I, General Studies and Mental Ability, and Paper II, Education. Each paper contains 150 questions, carries 150 marks and has a duration of 150 minutes, making the overall examination 300 questions and 300 marks. A wrong answer attracts a penalty of one-third of the marks prescribed for that question in objective-type papers, under G.O.Ms.No.235, Finance (HR-I, Plg & Policy) Department, dated 6 December 2016.
| Written paper | Subject | Questions | Duration | Maximum marks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paper I | General Studies & Mental Ability | 150 | 150 minutes | 150 |
| Paper II | Education | 150 | 150 minutes | 150 |
| Total | 300 | 300 |
Minimum qualifying marks in the written examination are 40% for OC, Sportspersons, Ex-Servicemen and EWS candidates; 35% for Backward Class candidates; and 30% for SC, ST and PBD candidates. The CPT assesses proficiency in office automation using computers and associated software. It lasts 60 minutes, carries 100 marks and requires at least 30 marks for SC/ST/PBD candidates, 35 for BC candidates and 40 for OC candidates.
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| CBRT | Objective, degree-standard written examination covering General Studies & Mental Ability and Education. |
| Certificate verification | Original certificates are checked for candidates shortlisted on merit before admission to the CPT. |
| Computer Proficiency Test | Office automation proficiency test using computers and associated software. |
| Final selection | Eligible candidates who qualify in the CPT may be included for selection or appointment, subject to applicable requirements. |
Candidates must appear in every written paper; absence from any paper disqualifies the candidature. The examination is to be written in the district for which the candidate applied. If candidates have equal written-examination marks, they are bracketed and ranked within the bracket by age, with the oldest considered first for admission. Mobile phones, calculators, electronic or programmable equipment, storage media such as pen drives, smart watches, cameras, Bluetooth devices and related communication accessories are prohibited during the examination, whether switched on or off. APPSC’s decision on applications, examinations and subsequent selection stages is final and binding.
Eligible candidates should check the detailed notification and submit a complete online application, including the applicable fee, by 29 October 2026 at 11:59 PM.
